Kuala Lumpur is undoubtedly home to a wealth of good eats, from both street food gems to fine dining establishments. And who better to ask for recommendations than chefs themselves? 

In this series, we speak to Aidan Low of Akar Dining, one of Tatler Dining Malaysia’s Top 20 Restaurants in 2024. Low was also Tatler Dining Malaysia’s Rising Star, and is known for championing local ingredients, presenting them through a modern Malaysian tasting menu at Akar Dining.

“I feel like this restaurant is very under the radar. It is located in Taman Ehsan, which is not a place that people go to very often. They serve rice and dishes, but the star dish I always go here for is the fish head curry!”
