Female entrepreneurs Rachel Carrasco and Kelly Parreño craft the perfect porcine snack, made with 100 per cent bacon and no artificial flavourings

How much do you love bacon? For friends and entrepreneurs Rachel Carrasco and Kelly Parreño, who grew up in the pork-obsessed nation of the Philippines, their adoration for this porky treat with a crispy texture have led them to launch Baken—the world’s first all-bacon snack.

It was a three-year-long journey of mad experimenting to craft the “perfect bacon crisp”—one that is made with 100 per cent bacon and without artificial flavourings. What they have come up with are four delicious treats that make for an indulgent and next-level snacking.

Made for serious porcine lovers is the Real Bacon Crisps. This ready-made snack has the perfect ratio of meat and fat, seasoned with a blend of secret spices, and transformed into crispy, savoury and smoky bites. While this becomes an ideal go-to snack for binge-watching Netflix shows, it remains a delicious addition to traditional breakfast meals, salads and sandwiches.

Bacon Cookies are perfect for those who crave something sweet and savoury. This chewy treat blends the saltiness of bacon bits and sweetness of chocolate chips. And just like any cookie, we can dunk it in milk, turn it into ice cream cookie sandwiches or use it as toppings for sundaes and cheesecake bars.

Continuing to expand their culinary creativity in the kitchen, Carrasco and Parreño came up with the Bacon Jam. Unlike most options in the market, this delectable preserve is overloaded with 80 to 90 per cent bacon bits and blended with secret ingredients that will surely pique any bacon lover’s plate. The best way to enjoy this is to spread it generously on toast and relish its sweet flavours with a touch of zest.

Those looking for the ideal fusion of sweet and salty flavours will soon enjoy Bacon Brittle. It is currently under research and development, but one thing is sure: this snack will pack those bacon bits in decadently smooth and buttery caramel candy, which make for delicious toppings.

Baken is available on shopbaken.com and in select markets in APAC such as Australia, Singapore and the Philippines.
