Even the series’ unique packaging features coffee bean husks as well as other organic recycled materials
The Macallan has unveiled new whiskies in the second release of The Macallan Harmony Collection, most notably Inspired by Intense Arabica. Taking a cue from the Ethiopian Arabica coffee bean, the whisky collection celebrates the world of coffee and pairs perfectly with the caffeinated drink. In line with The Macallan's ethos to place social and environmental sustainability at the forefront of operations, the series comes encased in packaging made using organic by-products in the coffee making process.
“There are many parallels between the approach to creating incomparable whisky and coffee,” enthuses The Macallan whisky maker Steven Bremner who created the two single malts. “Each requires unique skills and craftsmanship to achieve depth and complexity of taste and both worlds aim to deliver an extraordinary consumption experience.”

At The Macallan Estate, Bremner met with coffee and paper experts to further understand the art of coffee and sustainable packaging. Coffee masters who shared their knowledge included Ethiopian coffee grower Kenean Asefa Dukamo, Scottish coffee roaster Lisa Lawson, and award-winning American barista Andrea Allen. UK-based coffee artist Dhan Tamang also crafted a range of coffee art while coffee historian Professor Jonathan Morris provided an insight into the history of coffee.

The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Intense Arabica will be available from February 2023 onwards, while the Global Travel Retail version, The Macallan Harmony Collection Smooth Arabica, will be available at airports.
From February 17-19, 2023, a pairing and tasting experience will be held at The Bookmark, APW Bangsar to celebrate the launch of the collection. Guests are required to book their sessions online to visit.
