Explore the rich and complex nuances of this blended Scotch whisky through a multi-sensorial event that culminates in a specially curated food and whisky pairing menu

Think of Johnnie Walker Blue Label and its remarkable depth of flavour often comes to mind. It is, after all, a blend of the rarest and most prized malt and grain whiskies from Scotland where only 1 out of 10,000 casks (in Johnnie Walker’s over 10 million reserves of rare whiskies) has the desired characters that fit the Blue Label profile—smooth and vibrant, with complex layers of fruit and spice as well as hints of smokiness.

Whisky lovers, you’re invited to explore Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s depth of flavour, not just with a dram but through an immersive pop-up experience that taps all the senses. It takes place at the Mandala Club from December 9 to 13.

To start, master blender Emma Walker worked closely with Antonio Gardoni, the architect and perfumer of artisanal Italian brand Bogue Profumo, to create a bespoke fragrance that teases the nose with overlapping waves of scents—from top notes of bergamot and lavender to base notes of vanilla bourbon, tonka beans and iris.

It wasn’t created to mimic the whisky’s taste, as Gardoni clarifies that they’ve created the ebb and flow of “flavours experienced when tasting Johnnie Walker Blue Label”.

Continue your sensorial journey by putting on the headphones provided and listening to a specially composed 3D audioscape that also explores Blue Label’s flavour narrative. And, as the sound reaches a crescendo, you’ll be asked to take a first sip of your whisky to complement that beautiful moment.

The high point continues with the specially curated food pairing menu, dreamed up by Mandala Club executive chef Reuben Davis to highlight Blue Label’s different flavour profiles. While the menu is kept as a surprise, master blender Walker clues us in on the multi-sensory experience that will explore the “incredible layers of flavour in this exceptional whisky”. She adds: “As blending experts, we’ve worked hard with the experiential team to create something that is inspired by our work as whisky makers to craft those rolling waves of flavour that make Johnnie Walker Blue Label just so special.”

The sensorial whisky experience, which takes place at Mandala Club from December 9 to 13, is available for booking from November 10. Bookings can be made through depthofblue.mandala.club. Please Drink Responsibly. DrinkIQ.com.
