Prince William and Kate Middleton have landed in Scotland for their first Royal Tour since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. William was recently appointed the Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and this marks the first time that the royal is attending engagements in Scotland in his new role.
Scotland is significant to William for several reasons: he was in Balmoral when he learned of Princess Diana's death in 1997, but it is also where he met his future wife, Kate Middleton. "It was here in Scotland–20 years ago this year–that I first met Catherine. Needless to say, the town where you meet your future wife holds a very special place in your heart," he said in a speech. "George, Charlotte, and Louis already know how dear Scotland is to both of us, and they are starting to build their own happy memories here too. We have no doubt they will grow up sharing our love and connection to Scotland from the Highlands to the Central Belt, from the Islands to the Borders."

As with every royal tour, what Kate is wearing is of great interest, and she definitely didn't disappoint. From her magnificent blue and green tartan trench coat with huge gold buttons, to her casual, off-duty style sporting her favourite white Superga sneakers, the future Queen of England has been the picture of elegance.
