Don’t be a creature of habit and head to these newly opened establishments for a taste of their delectable offerings
It’s a great time to be a gourmand in Singapore. Three months into 2022—and despite the Omicron variant still raging in the community—the dining scene is still getting back on track with a slew of new restaurant openings. Here are five worth checking out.
1. Goho
In the mood for Japanese food? F&B group Proper Concepts has launched Goho, an omakase joint inspired by the five important elements in preparing a kaiseki meal. These are colours (goshiki), methods (goho), flavours (gomi), senses (gokan), and considerations (gokan no mon).
There are three menus to choose from—Sakura (nine courses), Umire (11 courses) and Ume (13 courses). Opt for the latter and feast on decadent creations like the poached awabi (abalone) placed atop a bed of sushi rice accented with liver sauce, bafun uni and sea grapes; and Mt. Goho, a towering pile of uni, Wagyu beef, toro, snow crab legs, ikura and caviar that’s served in a glass dome.
The menu is complemented by Japanese-focused cocktails created by Diageo World Class 2016 champion and co-owner Boo Jing Hen. Beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages are also available. Book here.
