If you’ve strolled through the buzzing streets of Legazpi Village in the past week or so, you’ve likely chanced upon a stylish new Filipino restaurant by the name of Tatatito. But the dishes at Tatatito are by no means contemporary. In fact, they’re quite the opposite. Embodying that “there’s no place like home” philosophy, Tatatito is all about comfort food. The extensive menu is a vibrant ode to your timeless Filipino favourites—crispy pata, sizzling sisig, longsilog, and champorado are just a few of the classics that take centre-stage.

“Tatatito has full trust in the standard of Filipino recipes and delivers from the rich anchor of Filipino culture,” beams Reagan Tan, CEO of The Mc Wilson Restaurant Group. When executed to the standards upheld by the group—which also carries Gringo, Honeybon, and Tokyo Bubble Tea—this trust is certainly warranted.

The attention to detail is evident in dishes like the signature Tatatito fried chicken, a simple but juicy rendition with a crisp, flavourful skin, served with a special sauce and deep-fried vegetables. The sarsaparilla pork liempo, sweet and succulent, is another prime example, complete with a vinegar sawsawan and fresh atchara. Though the menu does get playful with bamboo rice chicken tinola, crispy pata kare kare, and sizzling bulalo steak, classic Filipino flavours remain at the fore. “We want to showcase Filipino food in the global setting,” Tan expounds.

Asked about the fan-favourites thus far, Tan proudly shares “Everyone had their own favourites. Each of our dishes made an impression”, a testament to the strength of their menu. “We find this to be an extremely good sign. We’re incredibly proud of our menu offering.”

A play on the phrase tara dito, Tatatito “invites people to come to our restaurant, discover our food, and really let our food do all the talking.” Trust us, it’s an invitation well-worth accepting.
