Tuck into the spirit of the season with our roundup of holiday menus and sweet treats around town

The weather has finally turned and Mariah Carey has taken her rightful place on the airwaves, signalling the imminent arrival of Christmas. But it’s not a real celebration unless there’s good food, preferably good company and a good tipple at the end of your fingertips. Luckily for gourmands in Hong Kong, there’s no shortage of special offerings from restaurants and bakeries catering to every taste this Christmas season. From best of British bakes and everything American, to indulgent wine brunches and Catalan feasts, here’s a few Christmas menus around town that will do just the job.

RESTAURANTS

Arbor

Tatler Asia

Arbor marries seasonal Japanese fare with Nordic culinary pizazz in a spacious dining room looking out to sweeping views of Hong Kong. At this two-Michelin-starred outlet, bon vivants can expect sharp, bright flavours over six courses for lunch and nine for dinner, unique to Finnish chef-owner Eric Räty. Whet your appetite with marine gems; and continue the voyage at sea with Arbor’s signature tuna. For a heartier feast, the pigeon or A4 wagyu beef will hit just the spot.

Morton’s The Steakhouse

Tatler Asia

The Chicago restaurant is laying the table with iconic classics like lobster bisque and jumbo shrimp cocktail. Butter-soft filet mignon, broiled pacific salmon, fresh whole baked lobster and Chicken Christopher will have you rejoicing o-la-la; but at Morton’s, the sides also share the spotlight: the sinful sour cream mashed potatoes, creamed sweetcorn and parmesan and truffle fries make any post-meal workout worthwhile. Don’t leave without trying its hot chocolate cake, crème brûlée or the key lime pie—you won’t regret it.
