Spoiler alert! The number of canapés that will be served is over 1,000!

As December fast approaches, preparations are underway for Tatler Ball 2022. From a dazzling ballroom at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur to an exquisite dinner curated by Chef Junious Dickerson, the team is making sure the night will be a memorable one.

While much of the night is immeasurable, we’ve rounded up some interesting facts and figures about the soirée to give you a peek at the massive goings-on behind-the-scenes. Get ready for an unforgettable night of good food, company and, we guarantee it, fun. We can't wait to see you there!

3m-high Christmas tree

This is the second year in a row that Tatler Ball takes on the Christmas theme. A Christmas tree measuring 3m in height and decorated with white and silver trimmings will be the centrepiece of the festive setup. Under the tree are 'gifts' that you may purchase for yourself (or others)—the proceeds of which will go to charities.

3 silent auctions for charity

It's the season for giving, and Tatler Ball features a couple of charitable initiatives, including three silent auctions for Malaysia Airlines Business Class tickets, an indulgent stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi, and two incredible artworks donated by Qing Gallery.

1,920 plates

For dinner, a total of 1,920 plates will be used for almost 300 guests.

14 different dishes

From canapés and soups to mains and desserts, a total of 14 individual food items will be served throughout the night. Rest assured, you'll leave the ball full and satisfied.

Don’t worry about being peckish if you arrive at the ball early, as there will be over 1,000 canapés circulating the floor before dinner.

900 wine glasses

There will be approximately 900 wine glasses used throughout the event (or more if you happen to misplace your glass).

1,800 edible flowers

A lot of effort goes into making a dish visually appealing, as seen by the number of edible flowers that will be used throughout the event.

8 Hennessy cocktails

Specially crafted for the ball, there will be one Hennessy VSOP cocktail and seven Hennessy X.O cocktails. You will be required to register your details with Hennessy in order to get the more premium X.O creations.
