Artist: Jacky Tsai

Title: Tiger in Wonderland (Limited Edition) (Augmented Reality), 2019

About: Tsai was born in Shanghai, China in 1984 but has been based in London for the past 15 years since graduating from the renowned London Central Saint Martin’s. From traditional canvas, lacquer, and embroidery to NFT real-time-based digitals, Tsai’s talents can be seen across his artworks which integrate eastern ideologies with western pop art icons and motifs.

Since 2021, Tsai’s internationally acclaimed success in the art field has also led him to become one of the first Asian artists to transform his art into new blockchain technology digital art. Many of Tsai’s kinetic artworks are also real-time-based programmable art which interestingly responds to live events. His first digital artwork was transacted and sold at a record price by Sotheby’s in 2021. In October 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Digital Artist of the Year by Digital Art Fair in Hong Kong, celebrating his 10 years of traditional as well as digital art triumph. Collaborating with Sotheby’s Hong Kong, Tsai’s all-encompassing series of works combining his traditional forms and digital art were sold out.

So far, Tsai’s works have been adopted by many world-class organisations, auction houses and brands such as Sotheby’s, Christie’s Art + Tech Summit, Linley Collection, World Dream Cruises, Shanghai Tang 20th Anniversary Collection, Fosun Foundation, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), East & Oriental Express, Save Wild Tigers, Lane Crawford, Bulgari, La Mer, and Martell amongst many others. He was also one of the top 10 Contemporary Asian Artists to Watch at the Jay Chou x Sotheby’s event in Hong Kong in June 2021.

In 2023, Tsai’s works will be seen at The Museum of Contemporary Art & Planning Exhibition in Shenzhen, MOCA in Bangkok and Fosun Foundation in Chengdu.

Artist: Karwai Chan

Title: Fade

About: Karwai Chan was born in Hong Kong and moved to Malaysia when she was 14 to be educated and stayed on to pursue her artistic career. She paints to capture the essence of life’s most challenging and successful moments and the intense emotions linked with them. Her art is being commissioned by many public companies around the world.

Recently, her unique artworks and talents have caught the interest of many regional art collectors and limited-edition supercar owners. She’s the only artist that’s still working on a long line of commissions as demands for her works outpaced her production. Her clients range from many entrepreneurs, celebrities and politicians to Formula 1 institutions like McLaren, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and racecar bodies.

Chan is not limited to the conventional motifs that many schooled artists paint. Instead, she portrays supercars, Formula 1 drivers, celebrities and pop culture icons with the same enthusiasm and detail as wild animals, volcanic eruptions and portraits. More important than the motif is what the audience feels when looking at the painting. Her artistic choices are not restricted to traditions but speak directly to her selective clientele. To them, her paintings add soul to supercar showrooms and exclusive interiors.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Chan painted and contributed five distinctive pieces to raise funds for the Malaysian frontliners and as a tribute to their sacrifice. These pieces have been sold for an estimated RM1 million each and proceeds were entirely donated to assist the nation in fighting the Covid-19 outbreak. Malaysia's then-prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin paid tribute to the works through various media.

Bid starts at: RM25,000
