Belles of the Ball

Classic Christmas colours—green and red—were given a high fashion interpretation this year, especially with Tatler Style Award recipient Marion Caunter's gorgeous pine green gown by Christopher John Rogers. Bringing festive cheer, there was also an abundance of statement bows, fairytale silhouettes, feminine ruffles and sequinned suits.

Perhaps one of the most on-theme outfits was Dato' Dr Hartini Zainudin's custom dress by Melinda Looi. Paired with a handmade necklace depicting images that her children have painted for her over the years, it celebrates the holiday spirit of family and togetherness.

The men weren't going to let the ladies have all the fun at Tatler Ball this year. Bringing their A-game with impressive ensembles, classic black suits were given modern updates with intricate prints and unique collars. There were exciting experimental looks involving bright colours, vibrant patterns and velvet creations.

But style iconoclasts Nazreem Musa and Andrew Wong definitely stole the show with their boundary-pushing looks by Fizi Woo and Rick Owens respectively.

There's no better way to end the monotony of lockdown than with a glamorous ball at the Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur. These power couples definitely grabbed the chance to take a break from indoor picnics and dinner dates at home to get dressed to the nines and party the night away.

From Datin Dian Lee and Lim Wei-Ling's romantic flowing dresses that swayed on the dance floor to sentimental treasures, such as the gorgeous floral gown that Elizabeth Lee-Yong first wore when she met her husband Benjamin Yong for the first time, there was no shortage of magical moments.
