It was a night like no other; here's all the memorable details that put #TatlerBall21 in its own league

An impact-driven evening

In tandem with the season of giving, Tatler Malaysia's most anticipated event of the year was made especially meaningful this year by a crowdfunding campaign on in partnership with the NGO Bantu Heroes Sabah to benefit underprivileged children in Sabah affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

To kick off the charitable initiative, Pavilion Collection generously contributed RM10,000 along with a towering Christmas tree at Tatler Ball, decorated with tags bearing the names and ages of the young recipients.

Divine décor

Adding to this festive glow were elaborate Christmas-inspired decorations by Bayu Timor Production and Razak Luxe Decor—think gold floral centrepieces, glittering chandeliers and even floating Christmas trees!

At each table, cards were placed for guests to pen their personal notes to the kids in Sabah, to be hand-delivered by Tatler Malaysia's Influence Award recipient Dato' Dr Hartini Zainudin, on her visit there next year.

Food and wine sublime

If ever there were a time to raise a glass with friends, this was it. Courtesy of Moët Hennessy Diageo Malaysia, the evening started on a high note with delicious Hennessy V.S.O.P and Hennessy X.O cocktails expertly crafted and enjoyed alongside canapes by Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

A generous flow of Moët & Chandon Brut paired perfectly with a delectable five-course dinner by Chef Junious Dickerson, along with a crisp Terrazas Reserve Chardonnay and Terrazas Reserve Malbec for the second and third courses respectively.

The best of the best

Royal Selangor created the beautiful custom pewter trophies that were given out to our award winners for Influence, Power and Style.

Honoured with Tatler Malaysia's Style Award, Marion Caunter was also gifted with a pair of Chopard Ice Cube Rock earrings made with 100 per cent ethical gold. Hartini, who took home the Influence Award, was presented with a 3D2N stay at One&Only Desaru Coast while Power Award recipient Professor Dato' Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman received a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3.

Big smiles for the camera

Say cheese! Thanks to Samsung, our Tatler friends had the chance to capture photos and videos together at the ball using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3, generating a buzz of Instagram posts with the hashtags #TatlerBallMY and #WithGalaxy.

Another heartwarming highlight that enlivened the evening's awards ceremony: Before the three awardees took to the stage, they were surprised with video tributes filmed in collaboration with Samsung, featuring friends and loved ones offering their congratulations.

Bidding for charity

Throughout the evening, three silent auctions were also in progress, with the proceeds going to various charities. There was a 2D1N stay at One&Only Desaru Coast's Villa One inclusive of dinner for eight by Chef David Dalhaus, with a starting bid of RM30,000 to be donated to Yayasan Chow Kit.

Next was a 2D1N stay at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi's five-bedroom Imperial Beach Villa with a starting bid of RM30,000 for Heart to Heart charity. The third silent auction was for two Business Class return tickets to London by Etihad Airways starting from RM16,000, the proceeds of which would go to the Malaysian Red Cross Society.

All that glitters

It wouldn't be Tatler Ball without the sparkle of jewels, gems and watches.

Several guests that evening were spotted in exquisite jewellery pieces by Chopard, including Tatler Malaysia's managing director Geraldine Beh.

Meanwhile, guests Daniel Lim, Anson Au Yong and Nickson Au Yong sported L.U.C timepieces by Chopard.
