Parmigiani Fleurier’s Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux premieres a stunning new chronograph
No sub-dials. No chunky pushers. Just an elegant timepiece, Parmigiani-style. Meet the Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux, which features the world premiere of a new chronograph architecture.
Indeed, Parmigiani Fleurier has mastered the art of quiet luxury, where complications are often hidden behind the essential. These complex functions, whether a Chinese calendar or a chronograph, perform as they should without ever compromising the watches’ overall refined aesthetics.

Similarly, the Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux retains the classic look of a three-hand timepiece when the chronograph is not activated. When activated via a discreet pusher at 7.30, the rhodium-plated hand performs an instantaneous flyback to 12 o’clock and starts measuring elapsed time. Simultaneously, two rose gold hands appear to continue displaying the civil time. It is rather ingenious how seamless and independent the hands perform their respective tasks.

When the chronograph function stops, the rhodium-plated hands realign themselves with the rose gold hands, returning the watch to three-hand mode.
Reconstructing the chronograph movement, Calibre PF053 features three clutches, one vertical and two horizontal, to superimpose and transform the hand functions. The calibre was developed as an autonomous structure and conceived around the principle of disappearance. Every interaction requires instantaneous precision and absolute coordination.

Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux comes in a stainless steel case with platinum 950 knurled bezel. The Mineral Blue dial is decorated in Grain d’Orge guilloché. Its appearance whispers simplicity, but its mechanics roar with complexity, making this a stunning time instrument.
Parmigiani Fleurier is available at Cortina Watch.
