Its heartbeat is a restored 19th-century movement
The manual winding movement is an original A. Golay Leresche & Fils that dates back to 1890; it bears the manufacture's signature. A chronograph minute repeater, Michel Parmigiani rescued it and kept it safe until 1985 when he restored it and added a perpetual calendar function.

It has a stunning face
The mordant brown dial is decorated with delicately engraved in a motif called "mezzo vibrato", with four sub-dials for the calendar indications similarly engraved except for the moon phase. The last is set against aventurine, with the hand-hammered moon in white gold.

It is exemplary artisanal art
Master engravers Jaquet and Christophe Blandenier were tasked with decorating the 18k white gold case, from the caseback to the caseband. The delicate work imparts richness and depth to the gold surface, while also allowing enameller Vanessa Lecci to add colours using grand feu enamel. The choice of colours—yellow, red and translucent brown—is based on the coat of arms of the Gonzaga family, the owners of Palazzo Te.
