The Swiss brand signed a new partnership agreement that will extend to the 2026 and 2030 Commonwealth Games

Often referred to as the Friendly Games, the Commonwealth Games was the first global multi-sport event to feature an equal number of men's and women's events as well as the first to include para-athletes as part of the national teams way before inclusivity was the buzzword. The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, which will be held from July 28 - August 8, 2022, will welcome 4,500 athletes from 54 Commonwealth of Nations countries and 18 territories.

Longines has been appointed as the official partner and official timekeeper of the Games, the first ever multi-Commonwealth Games partnership that will take the Swiss brand to Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games and 2030 Games as well. Longines installed a countdown clock in Birmingham's Centenary Square and it features a ramp to allow even the wheelchair-bound to move freely under it.

This is not the first time that Longines is associated with the Games. The first partnership was in Perth 1962 and most recently, the Australian Gold Coast 2018.
