The Hublot x Daniel Arsham wristwatch fascinates with a case that evokes the shape of water
After last year’s avant-garde MP-16 Arsham Droplet pocket watch, Hublot and contemporary artist Daniel Arsham have unveiled their long-awaited sequel—the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash wristwatch, which is just as edgy as its predecessor. The partners marked the occasion with a global launch in Singapore, unveiled just moments ago.
Like the pocket watch, the wrist counterpart is also inspired by the fluidity of water, much of it is thanks to the frosted, sapphire crystal box-shaped bezel set on a 42mm titanium case. The hands, markers and numerals are distinctive in Arsham’s green accents. It is still recognisable as a Hublot watch, complete with the six H-screws on the bezel and caseback, and the titanium H-shaped folding clasp.

The watch, which took two years to develop, is powered by the Meca-10 movement featuring an ample power reserve of 10 days. Visible on the front and back, the manual-winding skeleton movement has been refined to a smaller 42mm size. Arsham himself chose the Meca-10, as it is the only Hublot movement small enough to fit his vision of a wristwatch.
“This collaboration with Hublot explores the fluidity of time through a case inspired by the perfect geometry of a water droplet, crafted using Hublot’s Meca-10 movement,” said Arsham, whose artistic lens has been sought out by Dior, Tiffany & Co, and adidas. “The watch’s transparent structure captures the clarity and motion of water, suspended, precise, and always in flux.”
The Hublot MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire is limited to 99 pieces.
