From sourcing rare gemstones to collaborating closely with clients, every creation at GIOIA Fine Jewellery tells a story. Here’s how co-founder Clarence Yee and his team transform personal milestones into exquisite pieces that celebrate love, family, and craftsmanship.
At GIOIA Fine Jewellery, the art of bespoke jewellery isn’t just a business; it’s a heartfelt journey that begins with a story. Co-founder Clarence Yee – whom you could say is the company’s chief storyteller – passionately describes his philosophy: “We celebrate personal milestones by crafting pieces that tell meaningful stories.” This belief transforms every client interaction into a collaborative experience, making clients co-designers of their unique creations.
In a recent project involving an engagement ring for a couple united by their passion for music, Clarence took inspiration from a musical note quaver. He designed a curvaceous gold ring adorned with diamonds and capped with a stunning Brazil Paraiba Tourmaline. “Why wear something off the shelf when you can create something that truly reflects who you are?” he asks rhetorically, emphasising that personalisation is accessible to everyone, not just the elite.

The trends in bespoke jewellery are as diverse as the clients themselves; however, Clarence has noticed that floral and foliate designs continue to be popular. In addition, rare gemstones like Padparadscha sapphires and pigeon blood rubies are still in high demand, captivating hearts with their vibrant hues.
These two trends are exemplified by designs like the Blossom Family Birthstone Bracelet, which incorporates a cluster of family birthstones – where each gem represents a loved one – into a floral-inspired motif. The centrepiece features a Pigeon Blood Ruby, Padparadscha Sapphire and Spinels. This versatile piece can be worn as both a bracelet and pendant, allowing the clients to cherish their loved ones in multiple ways.

Creating heirloom jewellery is another cornerstone of GIOIA’s mission. “We want our pieces to stand the test of time,” Clarence shares. Each creation is meticulously crafted with investment-quality gemstones, ensuring they can be passed down through generations. “Heirloom jewellery captures the past, celebrates the present, and becomes a legacy for the future,” he adds.
Clarence and his team pride themselves on their craftsmanship and attention to detail. “Every element matters,” he explains. From aligning gemstones perfectly to achieving a seamless finish, no detail is overlooked. Their commitment to quality means that even the smallest aspects of design are carefully considered.

The GIOIA team – which includes designers Cheryl and Matthew – believes in maintaining strong communication and collaboration throughout the design process. “We’re not just designers; we’re translators of our clients’ dreams,” Clarence declares. This collaborative spirit ensures that every piece reflects the client’s personality and intent.
And while the company embraces new technologies like AI as a tool to enhance their artistry, they nevertheless remain dedicated to preserving the human touch in every creation. For Clarence and his team, every piece of jewellery is a legacy – a celebration of love and craftsmanship that transcends time. With each creation, they weave together stories of passion and artistry.
