Experience the magic of Hari Raya 2024 in the most glamorous fashion with these exquisite festive collections by homegrown designers
Whilst we’re still in the midst of the holy month of Ramadan and daily fasting has yet to come to an end, a fashion feast can always be indulged whenever the craving strikes. And with Hari Raya 2024 around the corner, our homegrown designers have cooked up a lavish fashion banquet for the festive season and there are plenty of options to satisfy everyone’s taste.
That said, finding the perfect ensemble can be a daunting challenge when you’re spoiled for choice, but rest assured, we’ve got you covered. On that note, if you’re gearing up your wardrobe for the upcoming festivities, we have rounded up the best Raya 2024 collections for your consideration.
Alia Bastamam
Alia Bastamam’s Eid 2024 collection celebrates the rich mosaic of individuality across 30 looks. Her signature silhouettes pervade the Hari Raya 2024 collection, reimagined in a myriad of styles that walk the line between sophisticated glamour and restrained grace, such as satin-wrapped tops with pleated sleeves and matching sarong skirts, metallic kebayas, and modest dresses in a variety of striking hues.
Meanwhile, the designer’s diffusion line, Alia B, drew inspiration from three classic eras of cinema for its Hari Raya 2024 collection. Black and white pieces encapsulate the timeless elegance of films before colour, accentuated by striking prints and textures. Flowy silhouettes in soft shades of pink evoke the dreamlike beauty of romantic period films, whilst pieces boasting bold hues reflect the vibrant era of technicolour.
Khoon Hooi
In pursuit of recapturing the beauty of traditional wear, Khoon Hooi breathes new life into the kebaya with contemporary elegance. The Hari Raya 2024 collection, imbued with cherished memories of his grandmother’s kebayas, sees a vibrant assortment of traditional silhouettes meticulously elevated with exquisite fabrics and crystal embellishments. Each piece within the collection embodies a unique charm, from the pink tweed fabric and crystal pearl details on the Nita kebaya to the black geometric brocade skirt on the Yani kebaya.
Melinda Looi
Dubbed Cabaya: The Robe of Honour, Melinda Looi’s Hari Raya 2024 collection pays homage to the kebaya with a selection of contemporary interpretations. In true Melinda Looi fashion, the classic garment is reimagined with clashing prints and vivid hues for a modern touch.
Over at Mell by Melinda Looi, the designer’s apprentices Fara Riad and Tan Yen Li also presented their own takes on the kebaya with the Asal Usul collection. Blending comfort and style, Looi’s signature pleats are incorporated into the kebaya, baju kurung, and unisex baju melayu.
Rizman Ruzaini
A festive extension of the label’s spring-summer 2024 collection showcased at Dubai Fashion Week last year, Rizman Ruzaini looks back to the mythical Seri Gumum dragon as its muse for its Hari Raya 2024 couture collection. Each ensemble exudes a sense of opulence and grandeur, paying homage to the legendary creature with intricate beadwork, Swarovski crystal embellishments, and ornate embroidery adorned on a diverse array of traditional silhouettes.
Alternatively, the label’s Hari Raya 2024 capsule collection takes a simpler approach, offering an extensive variety of modernised traditional ensembles that can be worn beyond the festive season. Find prints of all sorts adorned on baju kurungs and kurta tops, including plaid, marble, florals, mosaic, and checks in various colours.
Fiziwoo
Fiziwoo’s Raya Luxe collection reinterprets traditional silhouettes in the most opulent fashion. The collection features a selection of baju kurungs glamorously elevated with exquisite jacquard fabrics, draped bows, pleats, and intricate beaded embellishments, each crafted with meticulous attention to detail.
Fusing Mediterranean elegance with traditional wear, Fiziwoo Studio’s Riviera Raya ready-to-wear collection evokes a coastal flair with a soft and earthy colour palette. Expect baju kurungs with intricate lace details, puff sleeves, and peplum tops, as seen on the stunning Tasneem and Bienda sets.
Mimpikita
Celebrating cultural heritage and memories of the past, Mimpikita introduces its Nostalgia Raya collection with charming festive ensembles for both women and girls, along with scarves to complete the looks. Traditional silhouettes are presented in an array of radiant hues, decorated with batik-inspired motifs and floral embroideries that pay homage to the Malaysian culture.
Mimpikita extends this tribute over to its diffusion line, Kita&Co, presenting an array of classic styles for not only women, but also men and boys. Vibrant floral prints and a mixture of lace textures add a nostalgic touch to classic styles, embodied on the Naya kurung set and Maria top.
Shals
At the heart of Ramadan lies a reminder of the importance of compassion, unity, and gratitude, and the festival of Eid is all about coming together with our loved ones to celebrate these values. For Eid 2024, Shals is honouring the spirit of togetherness and community with its Sebati collection, offering a wide range of contemporary festive wear for both men and women. Each piece is thoughtfully designed with versatility in mind, creating elegant ensembles like the Hera kurungs and Damian tops that are stylish for any occasion.
Larney
Aptly named Regal Raya, Larney’s latest festive collection is nothing short of magnificent, with 209 extravagant looks fit for a queen. Far from restrained yet gracefully elegant, the collection boasts bold hues, ornate embroidery, eye-catching prints, and exquisite textures adorned on a slew of timeless silhouettes that harmoniously balance glamour and sophistication.
Raea
With versatility at the forefront of its vision, Raea’s debut Hari Raya 2024 collection sees the modern woman’s wardrobe staples tailored for the festive season with a harmonious blend of timeless resort wear elements and subtle traditional touches. Each piece is carefully crafted to effortlessly complement any look for any occasion, be it a fancy dinner by the beach or a casual day out in the city.
