On his birthday, we look at the BTS rapper’s coolest style moments to inspire your own travel wardrobe
Both on and off the stage, Suga knows how to captivate his audience. We’re not just talking about his rhythmic raps—although the BTS rapper certainly delivers in the musical department—but his style as well. The K-pop star, whose real name is Min Yoongi and who also goes by the moniker Agust D, makes fashion choices that reflect his cool, laid-back personality. Nobody works an all-black ensemble better than him.
Suga’s airport fashion outfits are likewise relaxed and comfortable, without sacrificing on style. His love for designer fashion is also evident through his travel wardrobe, which includes pieces from Dior, Louis Vuitton and, of course, Valentino, for which he was named ambassador this year. Below, we look back at some of his coolest airport fashion moments.

1. Viva Valentino

In 2023, BTS’ Suga is pushing his airport fashion in a bold new direction. At the Incheon International Airport in Seoul, the rapper chose to wear head-to-toe Valentino, shortly after he was announced as the Italian brand’s global ambassador. He would have looked cool with just wearing a hoodie, baggy jeans, and sneakers, but Suga also threw on a tweed wool overshirt—instantly exuding European chic.

2. Luxe Athleisure

Unlike his fellow BTS members, Suga likes to maintain a low-key presence. It’s no wonder that he’s a fan of the cult streetwear brand Fear of God, from which he chose to wear an array of athleisure pieces including a hoodie and sweatpants. Suga’s look, which came in soothing, everyday neutrals, didn’t compromise on quality either, with some pieces coming in comfy fleece.
3. Grungy Mood

As a Nirvana fan, Suga would know better that most K-pop stars how to nail its frontman Kurt Cobain’s grungy look that has been trending on the runway. The rapper stepped out in a loose cardigan worn over a white tank, as well as a pair of ripped jeans, altogether mirroring Cobain’s iconic “Unplugged” performance outfit. Still, Suga made the look his own. He traded sneakers for chic leather sandals, and also disregarded Cobain’s anti-capitalist sentiments to flaunt the ultimate luxury handbag for men: the Hermes HAC Birkin.
4. Black Leather

It’s clear that Suga has a thing for statement bags. While his fellow BTS members opted for small shoulder bags on this airport outing in 2021, Yoongi packed his travel essentials in a roomy Louis Vuitton Steamer monogram tote bag designed by the late Virgil Abloh. That wasn’t the only leather piece that stood out from his look. Suga also kept warm in a leather jacket, expertly layered over a black turtleneck top. His beanie, pants and Dr Martens sandals completed the all-black outfit.
5. Statement Vest

Like Louis Vuitton designer Pharrell Williams, Suga knows the style potential of a utilitarian vest. For one of his more experimental airport fashion outfits, the BTS rapper wore one from the limited-edition Supreme x Stone Island collaboration. Continuing to demonstrate that he knows what’s what in the world of streetwear, Suga also sported black Off-White shorts and low-cut Converse sneakers. His bag of choice was another of hyped must-have: a Dior Saddle bag.
