The newly christened Mrs Beckham chose an elegant Valentino wedding gown for her special day

In what has been called the wedding of the year, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have tied the knot at the latter’s sprawling family mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

The ceremony marked the culmination of the two lovebirds’ relationship, which began in late 2019. After dating for a little over six months, Beckham, the oldest son of English football star David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, popped the question to Peltz, the daughter of American billionaire Nelson Peltz.

Their wedding is a fairytale come to life, and the bride had a dress befitting the fantasy. Below, see everything you need to know about Mrs Beckham’s bridal look.

The wedding gown was designed by Valentino

Peltz’s gorgeous gown was the work of luxury brand Valentino, helmed by Pierpaolo Piccioli. Peltz worked with the Italian fashion house as well as her stylist Leslie Fremar to fine-tune the details of her dress. Peltz had previously worn a Valentino look to the 2021 Met Gala, which she attended with her then-fiancé Beckham.

Peltz would have played no small role in the creation of her bridal look, according to her stylist who previously noted her meticulous and assertive nature: “She really appreciates good tailoring. She knows her sleeve length and where everything is supposed to fall on the body.”

The dress was true to Peltz’s pared-back style

Valentino is known for its use of exuberant colours, extravagant volume and rich textures, so it might be surprising how simply Peltz’s gown turned out.

“What’s interesting about Nicola is that she tends to edit brands down into their cleanest, simplest versions,” said Fremar.

In the case of the intricate gown that the Italian couture house created for her, Peltz stuck to the silhouette of its toile and opted to exclude the embroidery. The result? A timeless dress in which the bride cut a fine figure.

Peltz’s bridal look featured her favourite accessory: gloves

Adding a regal touch to her look, Peltz pulled on a pair of wedding gloves crafted from French lace. They were matched by a long, cathedral train cut from the same delicate fabric, which was then layered over her gown.

While it may look like Peltz is hopping on the nostalgia-driven trend of wearing wedding gloves, the actress has sported them with her elegant ensembles for parties and weddings in the past. Instead of opting for a total transformation on her special day, the bride boldly stuck with what she knew.

The bride’s mother added “something blue”

While Peltz oversaw almost every detail of her dress, there was still room for surprises. Her mother, Claudia Heffner Peltz, made sure she walked down the aisle with luck on her side through “something blue”: a message that she had Valentino’s seamstresses sew into the skirt of her gown using blue thread. As an added measure, an evil eye was also incorporated.

The bride traded heels for platform pumps

For all the classicism of her bridal ensemble, Peltz did leave room for one unconventional detail: her shoes. Instead of traditional kitten heels or pointed pumps, the bride chose a pair of trendy Versace Medusa Aevitas platform pumps.

The satin shoes, which have been seen on Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa, feature chunky soles, a square toe, as well as the Italian fashion brand’s Medusa emblem hanging as a charm along its ankle strap.
