3D floral and textures are no stranger to the fashion world, but now these unique, sleek designs are set to be blossom in 2022’s wedding scene, according to Christina.

“Three-dimensional flowers made from fabrics and came in the form of feathered embellishments and lace detailing, will give you an ethereal look that’s sure to turn heads.” Full of movement and totally romantic, this design adorned with plenty of flowers, feathers and beading will make you look amazing in photos, too.

The avant-garde leg of mutton sleeves of the 1890s and 1980s are set to appear on brides everywhere in 2022, Christina predicts. “The right volume and drape of sleeve can make any waist look inches smaller and draw the eye up towards the face. When choosing dresses with dramatic sleeves, be sure to look for designs with simpler skirt shapes or off-the-shoulder silhouettes to balance things out.”

Bridal separates may not be the most groundbreaking of ideas, but they are becoming a go-to for brides in 2022, coinciding with the rise of bolder, more unique looks for intimate gatherings that defined the pandemic. “From tops to skirts, pants, jumpsuits and jackets, bridal separates give you an infinite number of ways to create and style your own wedding day look,” said Christina. “Separates can be dressed up or down depending on the scale of your event, which is great as plans could change due to Covid.”

Fashion trends often come back into style, and wedding gowns are no exception. According to Jacky Cheung, high-low dresses, which were popular in the 2010s, are going to dominate the wedding scene amongst all the classic A-line and mermaid gowns next year.

"The high hemline at the front keeps things fun and flirty, while still serving all the drama of an extravagant train at the back—the best of both worlds,” said Jacky. “Not only it helps to elongate the frame, but the design also gives give the opportunity to showcase your beautiful bridal heels.” The unique silhouette will also make for a perfect look for bridal photoshoots, as the bride can move in her dress freely when posing in front of the camera.

Pro tip: For the most flattering lengthening effect, opt for a high-low gown featuring a higher hem in the front that hits mid-thigh.

As the micro wedding trend will continue to grow due to the ongoing pandemic, brides are likely to steer away from traditional white colour, opting for vibrant hues to brighten up their celebrations and create a bold impact that guests will remember.

"Not all wedding gowns have to be white,” said Jacky. “Eye-catching colours such as fire-engine red, flirty pink, daring black, rich burgundy, periwinkle blue, champagne gold, and many more countless shades of the rainbow will be bridal favourites in 2022." Vividly-hued gowns serve as a refreshingly fashionable alternative to the traditional white, which are perfect for fashion-forward brides who aren’t afraid to show off their sense of style.

Dreamy and boudoir-inspired looks are making a major comeback and in a big way with a modern spin, thanks to Netflix hit drama Bridgerton. “In 2022, we’ll see plenty of boudoir-inspired dresses,” Jacky predicted. “Brides-to-be are looking to flaunt their curves in boned corsets and show some skin in designs featuring layers of airy tulle or sheer lace in relaxed fits. A modern take on the boudoir aesthetics creates a look that feels utterly romantic, feminine, and a little bit sexy without being overly revealing.”
