Putri Estiani, better known under her stage name Ramengvrl, is a Jakarta native. If you happen to be in the Indonesian capital, here are her recommendations for a date, a night out, late night eats and more
Jakarta is a vibrant city full of life. But at 661.5 km² and with 10.56 million inhabitants, finding one’s way through the Indonesian capital can be challenging.
Lucky for us,Tatler caught up with Ramengvrl, one of Indonesia’s coolest artists, at Bali’s Suara Festival in Nuanu. And if there’s anything you should know about her, it's that the Jakarta native is extremely proud of her hometown.
We asked Ramengvrl to share a few of her favourite restaurants, cafés and bars in Jakarta—so you know where to have brunch, bring a date or listen to good music.

“I think the best place to have a public date in Jakarta is Cork & Screw, in Senayan,” Ramengvrl says. “There’s good food, good vibes, and prices are ok. For a private one, I can’t tell you.”

“For good music in Jakarta, [I like] Zodiac,” Ramengvrl says.
Zodiac is a light-mood music bar on the weekdays, which turns into a small club on the weekends.
Since 2018, it has provided a space for retail exhibitions, pop-up shops and more. Their goal is to find fresh activations with different fashion brands, music collectives, DJs from around the world and neighbouring businesses.

“For brunch, I like to go to Ombé Kofie,” Ramengvrl says.
Ombé Kofie is a chain of cafés with a few locations in Jakarta. With its washed wooden doors and tables, and rusty iron chairs, Ombé Kofie is known for its cold brew coffee, and its specialities: the Kickass Blend and the Nimbus Black.

“My favourite Indonesian dish would be Nasi ayam geprek... No, no no, it’s Nasi ayam kampung,” Ramengvrl says.
Nasi ayam kampung is a dish that includes rice and free-range chicken, which is often deep-fried and served with various condiments.
