Now that Clockenflap 2024 has ended, it’s time for us to come back on our favourite moments and interviews of this year’s edition

Hong Kong’s premier music festival Clockenflap took over the Harbourfront from November 29 to December 1, with multiple outdoor stages, food and beverage stalls, art markets, family activities and plenty of scintillating performances. 

From interviews with local acts like Serrini and $alty Chick to meeting with some of this year’s headliners like French Duo Air and Taiwanese beloved indie band Deca Joins: it’s time for Tatler to take you to Clockenflap’s backstage.

Clockenflap 2024: the festival announces its full line-up

Clockenflap has revealed the final line-up for its 2024 edition, with British hip-hop sensation Central Cee headlining the festival on Saturday night. Other newly announced highlights include Hong Kong singer-songwriter Serrini, local music legend Carl Wong and the Hats On Band ft. Jer Lau, songstress Banks, Japanese collective Turtle Island, American shoegaze artist Wisp, Filipino-Japanese singer-songwriter Ena Mori, and more.

The newly announced acts join an eclectic lineup of international, regional and local artists already confirmed for this year’s festival.

Clockenflap 2024 line-up: the festival announces its first wave of acts

The first wave of acts for Clockenflap’s 2024 edition is here, and they include two out of three headliners.

Rock icon Jack White, discovered by many through the Whites Stripes and their hit Seven Army Nation (2008), will headline the festival on Sunday, while legendary French electronic duo Air—who performed at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics—will headline on Friday. The Saturday headliner is yet to be announced.

Among the freshly announced must-sees, trailblazing DJ and producer Jamie XX should be added to everyone’s list, as well as British psychedelic pop-rockers Glass Animals. DJ Yung Singh is another not-to-miss act, as well as Japanese vocalist Yama. Visit Clockenflap’s website to get more familiar with the line-up.

General information about Clockenflap 2024

When: November 29-December 1

Where: Central Harbourfront, Central, Hong Kong 

What: Clockenflap is Hong Kong’s largest and longest-running outdoor music and arts festival and a major highlight of the city’s annual cultural calendar. The two past editions have sold out all tickets, thanks to headliners like Yoasobi and Swae Lee, and local acts such as NYPD and DJ Mengzy. Music is not the only thing on offer though—enjoy bites from the stalls of local restaurants, as well as browse through a crafts market and art installations.

Tickets: Tickets will go on general sale at 11am on Friday, September 27. Ticket prices remain the same from December 2023, with three-day General Admission tickets at HK$1,990 and single-day General Admission tickets at HK$1,280; three-day U18 tickets are HK$1,590 and single-day U18 tickets are HK$880. 

What can you expect for the line-up of Clockenflap 2024?

While Clockenflap has announced on its Instagram page that the first line-up drop will be “coming really soon”, we know that we can expect exciting international names, given its previous editions have included big names such as Yoasobi, De La Soul, Swae Lee and the Arctic Monkeys. 

For instance, in 2023, Clockenflap brought up some regional stars, such as Chinese musicians Leah Dou and Lexie Liu, Taiwanese singer 9m88 and South Korean indie band Balming Tiger

Finally, local names took over the different stages of the festival throughout the years. Be it NYPD, Xiaolin, Yack Studio, Cehryl, Mr Koo, DJ Mengzy, DJ Fu, Yeti Out & Friends and more: Clockenflap proved itself a powerful platform for local artists to shine in their own city. 

The concerts you can warm up to until Clockenflap 2024

While people associate Clockenflap with the Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival, they’re a bit more than that. They also ensure that Hong Kong welcomes interesting artists all year long, such as Taiwanese Jazz artist 9m88 and American rapper Oddisee.

Ahead of the festival, they have also prepared some exciting events, including Japan’s very own Wednesday Campanella on October 8 at TWGHs Tung Po Kitty Woo Stadium, and Korean band Hyukoh’s joint tour with Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster on November 6 at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
