Sunset Hospitality Group makes its Asia Pacific debut with Mett Singapore, a lush new urban retreat where food, fitness, and good times come together

Tucked within the lush, historic grounds of Fort Canning Park, the newly opened Mett Singapore hums with energy. It’s the kind of place where mornings begin with Reformer Pilates in a glass-walled studio, afternoons drift by poolside under a canopy of trees, and evenings stretch into lively dinners that linger long past dessert.

The hotel marks Sunset Hospitality Group’s long-awaited debut in Asia Pacific, and perhaps its most evocative yet. Following sister properties in Marbella, Bodrum and Barcelona, this flagship outpost blends colonial charm with a free-spirited Mediterranean sensibility.

“Fort Canning’s history and natural beauty give Mett Singapore a unique sense of place, one that’s warm, energetic and soulful,” says Antonio Gonzalez, Chairman and Group CEO of Sunset Hospitality Group. “It’s a destination where locals and travellers can gather, celebrate and feel connected.”

Behind the scenes, the 84-room property has been reimagined by designer Jeffrey Wilkes, who layers soft neutrals, warm woods and generous natural light across heritage bones that date back to 1926. Some rooms overlook the park’s rainforest canopy, others the city skyline. One thing’s for sure, though: all the rooms exude a relaxed, lived-in luxury.

The Flavour of Connection

If Mett’s design sets the tone, its dining experiences define the mood. Overseen by chef Daniele Sperindio, best known for his Michelin-starred Art di Daniele Sperindio, the hotel’s culinary direction turns eating into a social ritual.

There’s L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, a breezy ode to Italian coastal dining; the Canning Bar & Lounge, which hums from morning coffee to late-night cocktails; and soon, two bold newcomers. These are Hanu, a contemporary take on the Korean grill, and Art di Daniele Sperindio, reborn in an elegant new home within the property.

“Fort Canning feels alive, green, layered, full of stories. It’s a privilege to bring my culinary world into this historic space and make it part of Singapore’s next chapter,” says Sperindio.

Wellness with a Pulse

Beyond its tables and terraces, Mett Singapore makes a strong case for wellness as a lifestyle. There are two sun-splashed pools, a luxury gym fitted with Technogym equipment, and padel and pickleball courts for those who prefer their fitness with a dose of fun. Boutique classes span Aerial Yoga, Barrecore, TRX and Hiit, all led by expert instructors.

Later this year, Madison House, a private members’ club within the hotel, will open with The Longevity Suite—Europe’s leading biohacking and wellness concept—offering cryotherapy, targeted spa treatments, and longevity protocols designed to recalibrate body and mind.

“Mett Singapore is for the modern traveller who wants everything at their fingertips—health, connection and good times, with both city and nature just outside your door,” says general manager Marcel Li.

With its mix of heritage and hedonism, Mett Singapore invites guests to live well and linger longer, not just to stay, but to play, dine, and rediscover the art of living beautifully.
