Newly-weds Laureen Uy and Miggy Cruz tell us everything that happened on their most special day
Seven years into their relationship, lifestyle vlogger Laureen Uy and entrepreneur Miggy Cruz finally decided to tie the knot. The couple, who first met at a bar in BGC, shared a vision of celebrating their love in Club Paradise, Palawan. “Since Miggy and I enjoy spending our free time at the beach, we decided to get married on one of our favourite islands in the Philippines,” says Uy.
She explains that they were both involved in planning the wedding. “Miggy used to work in events and public relations; he handled everything pretty well.” The newlyweds had 180 guests—a perfect number for personally connecting with each guest and sharing meaningful moments. “People dear to our hearts and who have seen our love story blossom,” says Uy when asked who they invited to
the event.

For the bride and groom, the most memorable part of their wedding was the exchange of vows. “Our vows were so in sync that people might think we did it together, but we didn’t,” says Uy.
The pair, who 31 share a deep bond through music, also curated a playlist for the reception dinner. “Miggy and I included our favourite love songs but wished for a twist. As much as we love the songs sung by the original artists, we played samples instead. Still The One by Jesse Barrera, How Deep is Your Love by The Bird and The Bee, Better Together by Us The Duo, Always Be My Baby by Mathew V and more.”

The couple plans to spend their honeymoon in Tequila Town, Mexico, a destination known for its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes and, of course, delicious tequila. For Uy, their wedding will always be one for the books. “Everything was heartfelt. There was just so much love everywhere.People gave love, people received love. Everyone celebrated with us,” she says.
Her last words are for her beloved, of course. “Miggy, I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you with all my heart and with you, I know I will forever be in good hands.”
