Nutritional and delicious, check out Mood Food's 12 granola bar flavours
The quest for an enticing healthy snack seems to be an ever-continuous journey, one that quite often leads consumers to bland mouthfuls. Today however is cause for celebration, because a new appetising find has hit the market thanks to fashion stylist and entrepreneur Liz Uy. Meet Mood Food and acquaint yourself with their latest release of whole-food granola bars made with just a handful of wholesome ingredients.
Uy grew up with an inclination for baking, thanks to her family. So much so, that between her star-studded and shoot-filled schedule with her styling company, Stylized Studio, the fashion maven launched Mood Bake in 2016 to share her cookies with the Philippines.
Years later, now a mother and married to her fitness-enthusiast husband (Raymond Racaza), Uy herself along with her family became more health-oriented. The family typically enjoys munching on granola but were struggling to find a nutritious snack that they were obsessed with, which was proudly developed in the Philippines. When you can't seem to satisfy that unexplainable craving or quench the need for particular flavours or textures, it seems only reasonable to try and take things into your own hands, and that is exactly what they did.

“We (me and my husband) couldn't find a granola snack bar that was delicious, accessible and affordable so we made our own. We would always buy granola bars, but most of them didn't fit the flavour profile that we wanted and so we decided to create our own,” Uy explains.
At the time Racaza was training for some races and found himself needing nutritional treats that were both tasty and nourishing. Together, the couple began toiling away in their home-kitchen testing a range of recipes using just a few key ingredients until they developed a snack which made their eyes light up. “It all started in our kitchen and we made the recipe from scratch. We tried some recipes, but we couldn’t find anything that we liked. Took us months to develop, but we were able to make a granola snack bar that we’re happy with,” she shares. When they realised its potential, they couldn’t wait to share it with their friends, and the public.
Uy’s innate knack for creating stunning aesthetics came in quite handy for Mood Food’s branding. Its 12-line range features seven adult bars and five kids selections all in bright, bold and playful colours which are sure to stop you in your tracks. “I get a lot of inspiration by reading books on interiors, furniture, brands, food, travel and anything design-related. It started by having a conversation with my brother, Vince on colours and wording, and it all snowballed from there. I lead the creative direction and look of all our products,” Uy comments. The packaging is simple yet eye-catching with strong block lettering and a sophisticated dash of whimsy.
