NewJeans

NewJeans is a five-member girl group that debuted in 2022. Despite their youth—the members range from 16 to 20 years old—NewJeans has already achieved remarkable success. Their debut single Attention shot to the top of South Korea’s Melon chart, making them the fastest girl group to reach number one.

NewJeans' Haerin (Kang Hae-rin), born in 2006, has already contributed to writing lyrics for the group's songs at the tender age of 16. This level of creative input is relatively rare for rookie idols and speaks to the changing landscape of K-pop. Meanwhile, Vietnamese-Australian member Hanni (Phạm Ngọc Hân), born in 2004, has quickly caught the eye of fashion houses, becoming a global ambassador for Gucci at just 18.

Ive

Ive, a six-member girl group from Starship Entertainment, has been dominating the charts since their debut in late 2021. With an average age of just 19, Ive has already achieved multiple number-one hits and music show wins.

Member Wonyoung (Jang Won-young), born in 2004, first rose to fame as part of the South Korean–Japanese girl project girl group Iz*One and has since become one of K-pop’s most recognisable faces, gracing magazine covers and fronting campaigns for luxury brands.

Nmixx’s Lily

In the realm of solo artists, Korean-Australian Nmixx member Lily (Lily Jin Park Morrow) stands out as a vocal powerhouse. Born in 2002 in Australia, Lily made her debut with Nmixx in 2022 but has already gained recognition for her exceptional singing skills.

Her powerful voice and impressive range have earned her comparisons to some of K-pop’s most respected vocalists, despite being just 21 years old.

Le Sserafim

Le Sserafim, a five-member girl group under Hybe Labels, has been making waves since their 2022 debut.

Enhypen

On the boy group front, Enhypen continues to gain momentum since their 2020 debut.

The group’s maknae (youngest member), Ni-ki, was born in 2005 and hails from Japan. Despite being only 17, Ni-ki is already recognised as one of K-pop’s most talented dancers, often drawing comparisons to industry veterans for his precise movements and stage presence.

Korean-American Txt member HueningKai (Kai Kamal Huening), born in 2002, represents the multicultural future of K-pop. With a Korean mother and an American father of German descent, Huening Kai brings a unique perspective to the group.

Babymonster

Charging into the K-pop scene in full force in 2023 is one other than YG Entertainment’s girl group, Babymonster. Creating a buzz with their fresh, cutting-edge music and dynamic performances, Babymonster is bringing a new tsunami of excitement to the K-pop scene. Each member is renowned for her exceptional vocal and striking visuals.

Lastly, we can’t overlook aespa’s Ningning (Ning Yizhuo), born in 2002. As the group’s main vocalist and its only Chinese member, Ningning has impressed critics with her powerful voice and wide range.
