BTS members Jungkook and Jimin’s travel show ‘Are You Sure?!’ is dropping on Disney+ on August 8, why not build up your anticipation for it by catching up on travel shows by other K-pop bands, from Seventeen to Blackpink?

BTS members Jungkook and Jimin—who just released his album Muse—are embarking on a new travel series. Titled Are You Sure?!, this eight-part series will be released exclusively on Disney + on August 8 and follow the duo as they travel to New York, Jeju Island and Sapporo. 

The show was filmed in 2023 before Jimin and Jungkook began their mandatory military service in South Korea. In the series’ official trailer, the duo reveal that they had been talking for a while “about making a video of travelling together before starting military service”.

The teaser and the press release promise a series full of adventures, with numerous outdoor activities such as kayaking, snorkelling, snowboarding, motorcycling and more, as well as “a deeper look into Jimin and Jungkook’s undeniable chemistry and endearing friendship as they bond over a variety of unforgettable moments throughout the trip immersing in different cultures, exploring various action-packed activities, and trying out local cuisines”.

While we can’t wait for the first episode to be released, here are the other K-pop and Korean celebrities’ travel shows that you can warm up with before binge-watching Are You Sure?!.

1. ‘BTS: Bon Voyage’ (2016-2019)

Nothing better to prepare yourself for Are You Sure?! than by diving into BTS’s previous travel shows to see how Jungkook and Jimin’s friendship has evolved since 2016. In the four-season-spanning series BTS: Bon Voyage, the seven members of BTS travel through Northern Europe (Norway, Sweden, Finland), Hawaii, Malta and New Zealand in a total of 32 episodes, offering a unique insight into members’ lives.

2. ‘Nana Tour with Seventeen’ (2024)

More recently, K-pop band Seventeen went on “surprise vacations” in Italy guided by Na PD, a 20-year veteran of travel entertainment shows. The fun and heartwarming show Nana Tour with Seventeen features some of the country’s historical landmarks like the Colosseum and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, as well as hidden gems such as the picturesque sceneries of Florence. In the six-episode series, you’ll get to see a whole new side of the boy band (except their leader S.Coups who couldn’t travel due to an injury). You might even get inspiration for your next Italian travel adventure—from wine testing to making pasta from scratch.

3. ‘In the Soop’ (2021-2023)

In the Soop is a unique TV show in which the members of Seventeen and BTS were seen taking a break from their busy schedules and relaxing in nature. In the winter of 2022, actor Park Seo-jun, rapper Peakboy, actor Choi Woo-shik, actor and singer Park Hyung-sik, and BTS member V, a well-known group of friends in the entertainment industry, decided to join the adventure for a spin-off called: In the Scoop: friendcation

4. ‘100-Hour Romantic Vacation – Paris et ITZY’ (2020)

Better known under its shorter name Paris et ITZY (2020) (meaning “Paris and ITZY” in French), the reality TV show by Mnet (one of South Korea’s biggest TV channels) captures the girl band’s trip to the French capital for the Paris Fashion Week.

5. ‘EXO’s Travel the World on a Ladder’ (2018-2023)

The four-season series EXO’s Travel the World on a Ladder is full of healing, fun and laughter and follows the seven members of South Korea’s beloved boy band around the world through the years. They travel to Geoje and Tongyeong in their native country, to the island of Namhae, Taiwan and Japan, using a spinning ladder to help them choose their next destination. Now this is the kind of travel roulette we like!

6. ‘Blackpink Diaries’ (2019)

While it is not a traditional travel show, Blackpink Diaries follows the four members of South Korea’s most famous girl band during their In Your Area World Tour. Through an intimate coverage of their tour in Australia, Europe, North America and Asia, the show offers unique behind-the-scenes footage of their concerts, as well as everyday life moments.

7. ‘NCT Life’ (2016-2021)

Where to watch it: Several platforms

This comprehensive travel series follows South Korean band NCT throughout 11 seasons and 11 destinations. It offers a unique insight into members’ lives as they traverse through a wide range of tourist spots, from Bangkok and Chiang Mai in Thailand to Paju in South Korea and Osaka in Japan.
