1. Blackpink received honorary MBEs
Not only did Blackpink receive the royal treatment at Buckingham Palace when they attended a state banquet hosted by King Charles III on November 21 (during which he addressed them by name), in recognition of their work as advocates for the United Nations’s sustainable development goals, and as ambassadors of the COP26 climate change conference, the group also received the prestigious Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in a private ceremony, which was attended by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his First Lady Kim Keon-hee.
