Stellar dance moves, stylish sets and an underlying theme of love—here’s all we can expect from K-pop star Jimin’s latest album which is releasing on July 19

Jimin from legendary K-pop group BTS is back with a second studio album, Muse, which is due to drop on July 19.

Leading up to the release, he shared the full track list on June 20, which will feature Rebirth, Interlude: Showtime, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, Slow Dance, Be Mine, Who and Closer Than This—the last one was released in December 2023.

While his first album, Face, delved into the idol’s experience of facing his true self and taking a new step as a solo artist, Muse is reportedly about his inspirations in life, as shared by an announcement by Big Hit Music on Weverse.

Tatler explores what fans can expect from the upcoming album.

Complex choreography

Jimin is best known for his formidable contemporary dance skills, which he often shares on his Instagram page. Fingers crossed that he choreographs some standout routines for the upcoming music videos, and eventually, for the performances on —hopefully—a world tour.

Jimin’s Closer Than This music video shared intimate snapshots of the BTS members at various concerts, recording at the studio and going from event to event in limos. Muse will likely dive deeper into Jimin’s personal experience of being part of one of the biggest music groups in the world.

Retro visuals

Muse has incorporated a vintage feel to the album via images of old-school cassette tapes representing each song, as seen on the album website. Here’s hoping the theme continues throughout the rest of the visuals, from music videos to collectables.

Emotional lyrics

Jimin’s team teased that there would be an overarching theme of love connecting all the tracks. For example, there are some beautiful touching lyrics in Closer Than This: “Whenever you need me (I’ll be) / If you believe me (I’ll be) / I’ll never let you go / Never let you go”.

Stylish looks

The concept shoot for Blooming, which is available on the album website, shows Jimin wearing various styles from chic oversized suits to a more laidback indie sleaze look consisting of a skinny tie with a T-shirt. We’re looking forward to seeing what other stylish looks he’ll sport in upcoming shoots and videos.
