Hong Kong boy band Mirror marks its seventh anniversary on November 3, 2025. We revisit the group’s remarkable milestones, from its first Hong Kong Coliseum concert to its ventures into fashion, film and global recognition at the Mama Awards this year.
Formed seven years ago on November 3, 2018, Mirror has remained at the forefront of the Canto-pop revival, standing as one of Hong Kong’s most dynamic boy bands. Created by local broadcaster ViuTV’s reality show Good Night Show – King Maker, the group consists of 12 members: Anson Lo, Edan Lui, Keung To, Anson Kong, Frankie Chan, Alton Wong, Lokman Yeung, Stanley Yau, Jer Lau, Ian Chan, Jeremy Lee and Tiger Yau.
The group’s name, “Mirror”, symbolises the individuality of each member, while together they reflect limitless potential and creativity.
Emerging at a time when the city was experiencing pandemic-related restrictions, the group—drawing inspiration from K-pop choreography and stage aesthetics—offered a welcome burst of energy to local entertainment. Their success also lies in their ability to push creative boundaries beyond singing and dancing, branching into fashion, acting and entrepreneurship.

1. Mirror’s first concert
Above ‘The First Mirror Live Concert’ in 2018
Just 49 days after debuting with the single In a Second (2018), Mirror held its first live event, The First Mirror Live Concert, on December 21, 2018, at the now-defunct Star Hall in the Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. The show was sold out, setting the stage for their growing acclaim.
2. Singing achievements
Over the years, Mirror has garnered numerous awards, including the Metro Radio Hits Music Award for Best Group in 2020, major wins at the inaugural Chill Club Music Awards in 2021, and the Favourite Group title at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards in 2023.
Several members have enjoyed individual success, too. Lo’s seventh single Megahit (2021) amassed more than ten million views within three months. That same year, he became the first Hong Kong artist to be named Best New Asian Artist (Mandarin) at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (Mama Awards), one of Asia’s most prestigious annual music ceremonies.
3. The Coliseum concert

Mirror staged its first Hong Kong Coliseum concert on July 25, 2022, and originally planned 12 performances running through August 6.
4. Stepping into fashion
Several members made waves in the fashion world. To collaborated with Burberry and Kenzo; Lo with Giuseppe Zanotti and Charlotte Tilbury; Chan with Chaumet; and Kong with Piaget.
Some took entrepreneurial steps by establishing their own fashion labels: Lo with Allover, Kong with Kyubi, Ian Chan with Indipandant, Lau with Jungle Lofi and To with To Zero.

5. On-screen success

Though no member has yet taken home a major acting award, Lui received two Hong Kong Film Award nominations for Best New Performer in 2023 for his roles in Hong Kong Family and Chilli Laugh Story (both 2022). Lau also earned a Best New Performer nomination for his work in Mama’s Affair (2022).
6. Taking on the world
Above The Macau stop of Mirror’s ‘Feel the Passion World Tour’
Mirror launched its Feel the Passion World Tour with 16 sold-out concerts in Hong Kong from January 15 to February 3, 2024, at AsiaWorld-Arena. Following the local run, the band embarked on international shows in cities such as Macau, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, with more dates scheduled in the UK, US and Canada.
7. The Mama Awards

Cementing its place on the global stage, Mirror is set to headline the prestigious Mama Awards this November 28 and 29 at Kai Tak Stadium, a landmark moment for Hong Kong’s homegrown pop phenomenon.
