Art Taipei 2025 stands as one of Asia’s most important art fairs, showcasing works from around the world in the heart of Taipei. This year, Thailand’s Trendy Gallery proudly represents the nation, presenting four remarkable artists — Crybaby Molly, Karms, Mamablues, and Mrkreme.

Held annually every October, Art Taipei returns in 2025 from October 24–27 at the Taipei World Trade Center (Hall 1) under the organization of the Taiwan Art Gallery Association (TAGA). Recognized as a key event for international art and cultural exchange in the Asia-Pacific region, Art Taipei reflects the transformative power of contemporary art — connecting cultures, creativity, and people from across the world.

This year, the fair features 128 galleries from six countries and regions, offering a rich panorama of artistic voices. Representing Thailand, Trendy Gallery brings together four of the country’s most exciting rising talents — Crybaby Molly, Karms, Mamablues, and Mrkreme — each with a unique perspective and visual language that captures the vibrancy of Thailand’s new art scene.

With a mission to elevate Thai artists onto the global stage, Trendy Gallery remains committed to making art approachable while preserving a distinctive identity that sets it apart. Its philosophy — friendly yet bold, accessible yet unmistakably original — reflects a vision of art as both a cultural bridge and a powerful form of self-expression that transcends borders.

Molly Crybaby

‘Crybaby Molly’ or Mod Nisa Srikumdee (b.1984) is an artist who possesses a deep understanding of her own emotions, enabling her to articulate them clearly through her artwork. Throughout her life, from a young age to the present, she has evolved alongside her artistic pursuits, encompassing painting, sculpture, and digital art. While she has created a wide array of works, her true passion lies in the realm of handmade crafts.

Her emotions exert a strong influence on her creative process, resulting in consistently candid and genuine works. Regardless of the techniques or materials employed, she is able to convey her sentiments in a sincere, profound, and relatable manner. Each artwork serves as a reflection of her innermost aspirations, staying true to her artistic vision.

Drawing upon her life experiences, which encompass both joy and sorrow, she has encountered diverse forms of pain and fragmentation. This has compelled her to transform these narratives into various art forms. While many individuals may opt to express themselves through tears or outward behaviors, she chooses to embrace and channel her profound inner emotions into an ongoing and limitless artistic journey.

Karms

‘KARMS’ or Thammatat Saithong (b.1996) is a Thai artist based in Bangkok, Thailand.

He has been drawing cartoon characters from a young age to adolescence and has adjusted his styles as he grows older. From what he drew only as cartoons have now become more expressive drawings, using color, composition, light, and shadow to directly display what he would like to say. Being the kind of person who analyzes everything in detail, especially ‘humanity’, every piece of his work tends to be inspired by both the surroundings and the inner beings. To illustrate, he looked at a pineapple and applied it to a character by giving him eyeballs around the head. This also included his use of narcissus flowers. Let’s just say he is passionate about approaching situations, environments, and people on a spiritual level. Karms’ work oozes a feeling of inviting people to find and gain something according to how each and every individual will feel.

Karms’ art is drawn from his head and heart through the tip of a brush into a painting himself. Character adaptations have been reinterpreted by his toying with distinctive elements, blending them with communicative meanings. He has employed techniques for using light and shadow to create dimensions of the image according to the feeling of the moment, choosing the color tone to suit the situation of the mood of the picture. These are all through thought processes, experiences, and skills that have been accumulated over the course of a lifetime. In addition to drawing which he has to do on a regular basis, another indispensable activity is talking to people. He believes that it is the collection of important raw materials that will lead to further improvements in his work. He is the kind of person who is quite easily affected by the impact of what is around him, no matter how small the matter is. It is these details that he keeps as fuel that bursts into works as if to shout to the world about these great little things.

Karms often describes his art as ‘Everything is Karms.’ Of course, he is referring to humanity.

MRKREME

‘MRKREME’ or Andy Varagun Chongthanapipat (b. 1993), a Thai-Hong Kong artist who fell head over heels for the enchantment of art since childhood. Rewind to the moment when decisions about university majors loomed, ‘Art’ was an option that seemed uncertain and precarious in the eyes of many. Andy faced societal pressure nudging him towards a more ‘secure’ professional path. However, fueled by his passion for art, he sought a career that could still allow him to indulge in the joy of drawing – Industrial Design. Determined to follow this unconventional path, Andy furthered his studies at Pratt Institute, delving into the realm of Industrial Design (MID) for his Master’s degree.

Andy embarked on his artistic journey by diving into the world of art toys in 2019. Balancing university studies and investing his own funds, Andy took the bold step of setting up a booth to showcase his unique art toys. As fate would have it, his creations caught the eye of a talent scout from a Taiwanese art toy production company. This unexpected twist opened doors for Andy, leading to collaborations with numerous brands. Subsequently, he ventured into the realm of street art, unleashing his creative prowess on the urban canvas. Falling in love with the art of storytelling, Andy began weaving narratives on the backgrounds of his characters. From the strokes of his brush to the perspectives and diverse concepts, Andy found a new avenue to express and reflect his views through art in a different light.

Andy’s artistic abilities and his extensive portfolio of street art have established him as a well-known and respected figure among art enthusiasts. However, during the widespread outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, Andy found himself unable to venture out and create art in various public spaces. Undeterred by these challenges, Andy redirected his focus towards the creation of art on canvas. Embracing the versatility of this medium, he began crafting a series of artwork on canvas, showcasing his unwavering passion and commitment to his craft.

Moreover, Andy has orchestrated numerous exhibitions and showcases across diverse countries, spanning the United States, France, and Singapore. Notably, the ‘Timeless Muse’ stands out as his inaugural solo exhibition, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey.

Mamablues

‘Mamablues’ or Fai Favalai Sirisomphol (b.1988) expresses her self-created universe through her art, passionately embracing ambiguity, mysterious atmospheres, and intrigue. She predominantly uses a grayscale palette to narrate her stories, employing clear forms of color, light, and proportions to reflect her identity without sticking to any rigid style. Her keen observational skills and curiosity about human complexities ensure her work is highly original, always presenting new stories about identity, states of being, and the meaning of life, featuring characters with her unique, emotive line art.

As an artist, she prioritizes the message she wants to convey and loves exploring and experimenting with new techniques. This adaptability means each piece might employ different methods, evolving over time while maintaining her distinct voice.
