Taylor Swift is expanding her Rhode Island mansion to make it her main residence with Travis Kelce—take a look inside the luxury home

Taylor Swift is reportedly expanding her luxury mansion in Rhode Island, US—in the hopes of making her primary residence with her boyfriend, the professional American football player Travis Kelce.

The house will soon undergo renovations to add a new wing, which will feature a bedroom and multiple bathrooms, while the kitchen is also set to be remodelled, according to building permits obtained by the Providence Journal.

The cliffside home, known as High Watch, measures 11,000 sq ft of interior space and has eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms. It sits on 5.23 acres and has a private beach. Swift reportedly bought the home for US$17.75 million in 2013, making it the most expensive private home in the state. 

The home has a storied past: located in the historic Watch Hill neighbourhood in the Westerly district, it is a colonial-style mansion perched on what functioned as a lookout point during the Seven Years’ War and the American Revolution in the 18th century. The late American oil heiress Rebekah Harkness bought the house in 1948; the home and its former chatelaine inspired Swift’s 2020 song The Last Great American Dynasty.

Today, it is famed for the star-studded parties Swift throws there. Her July 4 soirées in celebration of US Independence Day are reportedly dubbed “Taymerica” and their celebrity guests include close friends Gigi Hadid and Blake Lively and their respective partners Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds.
