This Sentosa Cove property in Singapore makes it feel like you’re always on holiday

The condominium offers a wide range of units for both individuals and families—this includes two expansive villa duplexes that each has its own swimming pool, 18 penthouses, and a variety of three- and four-bedroom units. All the units are accessible via their own private lift lobby.

Positioned at the southernmost tip of Singapore, Seascape has become an investment-worthy property for its unrivalled sea views, low-density neighbourhood and its unique address. Beyond being prized by those who desire to sink into the beauty of its maritime setting, there is also a bevy of amenities for its close-knit community to enjoy. Inside Seascape, residents have full access to concierge services, including a clubhouse, a gym and a swimming pool. The area will also soon benefit from the upcoming completion of the first phase of the Sentosa-Brani master plan, which will expand the island’s existing amenities and recreational offerings.

One of Seascape’s two villa duplexes was recently given a transformation by Singapore-based Architology Interiors and sold for close to $21 million. Also dubbed a “super penthouse” due to its impressive size, the 6,631 sq ft unit received a new look from the design practice, which had worked with Ho Bee Land on a previous project in the Cape Royale condominium.

Architology Interiors was presented with an open brief, but rather than go overboard with opulence, the firm gave the sea-facing unit subtle aesthetic and practical touches that profoundly emphasise its association with waterfront living.

The design firm sought to craft a space that would “embody everything it means to live in a penthouse as exclusive as this”, says co-founder Terrence Quah. “We wanted the owner to enjoy a sublime experience of the amazingly panoramic setting of the penthouse; more than just appreciating the view, [but also] to feel as if living in the space gave them an inextricable connection to the sea,” he adds.

At the entrance, the glass doors of the lift lobby facilitate immediate views of the ocean. The surfaces here sport a mirrored finish that reflects the sea and the sky, while a group of tables mirrors the shapes of the islands in the distance.

The Carrara marble flooring used on the first floor is a fitting backdrop to the blue tones in the living room, which create a soothing link to the sea. Overhead, the recessed ceiling features fibre-optic lights that twinkle in the evening to mimic the Milky Way. The staircase also makes a grand statement with its handsome oak handrails and backlit walls. These illuminated panels light up the stairway and accentuate the height of the staircase, their soft glow bouncing off the travertine dining table nearby. 

Upon arriving on the second floor, one is greeted by a full-height green wall that forms a verdant backdrop to a courtyard that was converted into a sheltered indoor-outdoor space that’s perfect for relaxing in. In the master suite, pivoting doors over three metres high separate the dressing area from the master bedroom and create a dramatic transition to the sweeping views of the sea.

“We are very proud of the fact that the end result was accurate to what we presented in the client discussions, or even exceeded what we presented,” says Quah. “We push ourselves hard to ensure this in every one of our projects, and this penthouse was no exception.”
