1. Carl Hansen & Søn Limited Edition CH24 Chair

Tatler Asia

For a seat as special as the lady herself, choose from a limited run of chairs by Carl Hansen & Søn that celebrates the late Hans J. Wegner’s 70-plus years of collaboration with the Danish heritage brand. This new range reimagines the iconic Wishbone Chair (CH24) in nine new colours selected by London-based designer Ilse Crawford.

The nine matt colours were inspired by the paintings of Danish artist Per Kirkeby who celebrates nature in his Nordic landscapes. Soothing and soft rather than trend-driven, Crawford deliberately chose timeless colours which would add depth and complexity to any interior.

All colours are eco-friendly, water-based and resilient and will be released every month this year beginning with Soft Pewter, Soft Hollyhock and Soft Barley.

2. Royal Selangor William Morris Wine Service

Tatler Asia

You may be at the age where sharing a glass of wine with mum is the done thing and what better way to mark this than to gift mum an elegant wine service from Royal Selangor's William Morris range.

Adorned with motifs that define the legendary leader of the Arts and Crafts Movement, William Morris’ work, the collection comprises a decanter, wine pourer, wine stopper, foil cutter, wine funnel and bottle chiller.

Morris' late 19th-century ornamental print borders informed the grape and vine motif and were produced in collaboration with the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Also available for personalisation.

If your mum loves The Home Edit, she will want Vitra's Uten.Silo. This cool organiser for everyday essentials was designed by Dorothee Becker, who ran a successful shop for well-designed and practical everyday objects in Germany with her famous lighting designer husband Ingo Maurer.

The organiser was designed in the late 1960s and was an exercise in pushing the boundaries of plastic moulding through vacuum forming. With containers of different shapes and sizes, metal hooks and clips, Uten.Silo brings order to wherever it is placed. Available in striking colours.

Vases are a favourite gift for mums but do one better this year and present her with one with a design pedigree. The Flora vase designed by Oiva Toikka has a charming mid-century vibe and was inspired by the same Scandinavian landscape nature so beloved by the creator of the iconic Toikka birds.

The Flora vase features a beautiful structured floral pattern and comes in three colours but is particularly unusual in copper. A tall vase ideal for long-stemmed flowers or just a few single branches, each vase is mouthblown at the Iittala Glass Factory in Finland.

7. Georg Jensen Sky Water Bottle

Tatler Asia

Your mum may have filled up your water bottle throughout your school years but you can now return the favour with a chic version, Georg Jensen's Sky water bottle. Designed by Aurélien Barbry, the French designer applies his minimalist aesthetic to the everyday water bottle whose mirror-polished curves look more like a modern sculpture.

An object that is both functional and beautiful, the organic shaped stainless steel form is comfortable to hold and features a natural calf leather strap to attach the lid. The steel of the bottle also has the advantage of keeping the contents cooler for longer but is not suitable for hot beverages as it heats up quickly. If steel is not preferable, Sky also comes in BPA-Free plastic in four shades.
