Inspired by nature, Villeroy & Boch introduce three new colours to their Artis collection

Gone are the days of stark white and traditional bathrooms. Villeroy & Boch understands that the bathroom should be a functional space and a canvas for self-expression and serenity.

Through careful study and years of crafting quality homes, Villeroy & Boch have discovered that rich and expressive colours are an ideal way to achieve this effect, reflected in their updated Artis collection.

Gesa Hansen, the colour expert for Artis, brings a unique perspective to bathroom design. Having honed her craft at the prestigious Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar, her vision is rooted in the belief that colour can shape moods and express individuality, continuously redefining the concept of colour in the bathroom.

Natural selection

A brilliant grey winter sky, the lush green of the forest, or the ocean’s depths. With these elements in mind, the German-Danish designer has developed three new shades for the modern bathrooms: Frozen, Forest, and Deep Ocean.

“I see them as the antithesis of the digital world, which usually comes with rather cold and impersonal colours,” explains Hansen. “Blue and green are predominant shades in nature and have become quite popular in recent times, especially with design trends now embracing more natural elements as people reconnect back to nature.”

“I chose these three colours specifically because they create an impression of depth, which in turn conveys a feeling of safety,” continues Hansen. “The bathroom is one of the most personal spaces in your home, so being able to feel these particular details is important.”

Forest, a calming dark green, brings a connection with nature into the bathroom and complements dark shades to create fun and exciting looks. While Frozen and Deep Ocean produce a cooler feel, they combine beautifully with wood elements to bring more warmth and character to this natural material, giving the illusion of a personal oasis right in your own home.

With these three new colours, the Artis colour portfolio now consists of 10 shades and two white options: White Alpin and Stone White. Original Artis collection should not fret, as Hansen has still retained the connection’s original concept. Functional and minimalist with a 10 cm depth and 8 mm rim, the BiColour series focuses more on the colour play, the coloured outer surface of the basin contrasting with the glossy white interior to make the precise wrap-around edge more vivid while emphasising the delicate design in high-quality TitanCeram.

Artis’ surface-mounted washbasins are also available in four shapes, round, oval, square, and rectangular, and can be combined with Villeroy & Boch’s other furniture collections, such as Antao, Finion, Collaro, and Legato for limitless versatility.
