Somewhere El-S seating

Often instilling humour and whimsy into his wide range of furniture designs, believing that they should not only be functional, but also bring joy and surprise to users, it is no different for the range of Somewhere El-S seating that marries fascinating design with sophisticated craftsmanship.
Inspired by the world of elegant travel, to which Starck chimes in: “In the middle of the desert, waiting for your chauffeur, it is always good to sit on your bag,” these pieces evoke the aesthetics of a luggage and a gift bundled in wrapping paper, each with distinctive metal chrome or glossy bronze closures reminiscent of fine saddlery and leatherwork.

Functional and versatile, the Somewhere El-S armchair features a hand-woven natural saddle leather backrest, whereas the ottomans come in three variations: two square-shaped ones, and a rectangular one that can be used as a daybed with or without a backrest.
Removable upholstery options include thick-textured leather in three shades, and monochrome ethnic-patterned fabrics designed by Starck, while the padding is made from circular materials for ease in disassembling when recycling at the end of its life cycle.

The anniversary collection also extends to the bedroom with the Volage Ex-S Night Wood bed, which Starck explains “shares the familiar look of timeless, discreet and human elegance.”
Comprising a one-piece headboard that is available in three fine wood finishes–glossy mahogany, ebony, and matte sycamore, the sensorial bed is fitted with functional accessories equipped in the cast aluminium bars on both sides of the headboard.
These elegant adornments include a large fabric abat-jour in shades of ivory, peach or grey that diffuses a warm, soft light, an accompanying dimmable reading light, and an integrated USB and electric socket catered to the modern technology lifestyle.

The Volage Ex-S Night Wood bed also comes with suspended marble-topped bedside tables with wooden drawers in the same finish as the headboard, and an upholstered bed frame that echoes the ivory-stitched detailing and thick-grain leatherwork of the Somewhere El-S collection.
The bed frame upholstery also comes with theBreath air-purifying fabric option, the first patented technology for air purification that breaks down contaminants and circulates natural clean air.
Both the Somewhere El-S seating and Volage Ex-S Night Wood bed first debuted during Milan Design Week 2024, when they were showcased at the Cassina Store Milan during an artistic and theatrical week-long installation curated by Starck himself.
