Torment and horror has never looked tastier with this year's Halloween F&B offerings from across the city

We've had to live through our fair share of horrors over the preceding few years, so what better way to cope than to make light of it while eating and drinking to our heart's delight? This Halloween, with the light at the end of the tunnel in sight, Hong Kong's finest dining and nightlife establishments are pulling out all the stops for a night of revelry—keep reading for our round-up of where to head for this most spook-tacular night of the year.

1. Zuma

Be whisked away to a Japanese wonderland of horrors on Saturday October 29 at Zuma. 4. Candour

Celebrate Halloween from October 28 to 29 at Soho bar Candour. On the Thursday night, ease into the Halloween groove with DJ mixes of soca, afrobeat and hip-hop from 8pm onwards, with special cocktails by bartender Kervin Unido. Then, on Friday night, show up for a hip-hop Halloween at The Experiment party, where the bar will be transformed into a mad scientist's lab. Cocktails are the focus again here, with the likes of Pink Venom (tequila, black citrus soda, Sichuan syrup Himalayan pink salt) and Toxic (rum, matcha latte liqueur, melon liqueur, Green Chartreuse, lime juice pineapple stock) on offer, in addition to shots served inside of syringes. Doors open at 5pm, and DJ Crystal So will be spinning the decks from 8pm onwards.

5. Zzura

6. Island Shangri-La

For a spot of intrigue, head to the Lobster Bar & Grill at Island Shangri-La for a Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner on October 29. While munching on a three-course set dinner menu by executive chef Uwe Opocensky, diners can attempt to solve the mystery for the chance to win some exciting dining rewards. Between October 28 and 31, the restaurant will sport a House of Horror look, where head bartender Jonathan De Jesus will be serving special cocktails with names like Spooky Pumpkin, Witchcraft and Corpse Reviver.

For more kid-friendly activities, the Lobby Lounge will be serving a Halloween-themed afternoon tea from October 22 to 31 (HK$718 for two); while Cafe Too will be adding a touch of Halloween scare to its lunch and dinner buffets from October 29 to 31.

7. The Daily Tot

Bask in the imagined rays of a rum-soaked Caribbean island on October 29 as The Daily Tot hosts a Halloween Beach Party. From 9pm until midnight, dress up in your best swimming gear for reggaeton, soca, and R&B tunes from a live DJ, plus free-flow Daiquiris, house wines, prosecco, bottled beer, house spirits and sodas. 8. The Upper House

Halloween gets flamboyant at The Upper House's Lawn thanks to drag star Madame Mincemeat who will kick off the festivities with her signature dance moves. The after-party features a live DJ and includes free-flow bubbly, red and white wines along with a variety of small bites. Costumes are, of course, highly encouraged. Tickets are available at HK$1,188 per person.

The Barhouse, located in Wellwellwell at Pacific Place mall, is offering a selection of cocktails and snacks from October 22 to 31 from 5pm to 10pm. Sip on the Devil’s Eye, a lychee rum and red wine concoction, or Wiggly Worms made with gin, red wine, green apple syrup, and soda, as you munch on Bloody French Fries and the Devil’s Hot Chicken Wings this Halloween. Plus, the menu will come with mini-games and surprise gifts.

10. Terrible Baby

Axel Gonzalez of Terrible Baby is mixing it up this Halloween with two cocktails that are available from now until October 31. The Spooky Lagoon is a tropical blend of overproof rum, blue curaçao, carbonated pandan, coconut, and citrus while the spicy Dragon Zombie adds fire to the belly with vodka, tepache, dragon fruit, guava, citrus, and Flagrant hot sauce.

What's more, Terrible Baby is also hosting a “Drag You to Helloween” party on October 29, from 9pm until late, featuring performances by local group Drag Jam and a set by DJ Fabsabson for those truly monster party vibes. Tickets are available at HK$150 and include one free drink.

All LKF Concepts dining venues, including Baci Trattoria & Bar, Porterhouse Seafood and Steak, Fumi and Kyoto Joe, are offering a Halloween-themed cocktail called Indigenous which is served in an IV blood bag. The cocktail is a blend of tequila, hibiscus, and orange juice and is available from October 28 to 31 for dine-in (HK$138) or takeaway (HK$100).

At Baci, a Halloween "Glow in the Dark" semi-buffet dinner will take place on October 29 for HK$688 per person. A free-flow option (HK$198 per person) is also available with Prosecco, selected wines, bottled beer, and house spirits flowing to set the mood for Halloween parties.
