For those who put off new year resolutions in favour of festive feasts, Chinese New Year—also known as Lunar New Year—begins on Sunday, January 22 this year and Hong Kong is well-prepared with an abundance of dining options for all.

This includes dim sum and signature dishes such as sautéed lobster with a superior fish broth, stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts and dried chilli, and braised grouper fillet with sun-dried shrimp, salted egg, minced pork and ginkgo nuts.

Hung Tong is offering various options for a delectable feast over the holidays. The special Chinese New Year menu highlights auspicious dishes such as stir-fried lobster with truffle, braised sea cucumber with pomelo skin and shrimp roe, and baked cod with Chinese olive pickle and salt in lotus leaf. For those dining in the day, dim sum is a great option with the likes of mantis shrimp dumplings topped with Sturgeon caviar and goldfish-shaped dumplings on the special menu. Meanwhile, the set celebatory menu is best for traditional meals with barbecued premium pork with maple syrup, steamed fish and crispy chicken with soy sauce.

The Legacy House ushers in the Chinese New Year spirit with classic Cantonese cuisine in their festive menus and dishes. Must-tries include a poached spotted grouper fillet and steamed egg white crepe with crab meat which are designed for sharing, while items from the Chinese New Year dim sum menu such as baked Jinhua ham puffs and steamed scallop dumplings are also sure to delight.

Duddell’s is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with all-day a la carte dishes and dim sum available for a limited time.
