Oktoberfest, Germany’s annual beer festival, is a two-week event honouring Bavarian folk culture through food, beer and lifestyle activities. First held in Munich, Germany in 1810, this festival has evolved into the world’s largest celebration, attracting over six million people annually to Munich before the pandemic. Today, it has become a global affair, with many countries across the world participating with their own version of Bavarian festivities.
This year’s Oktoberfest takes place from September 17 to October 3; while it might be too late to book a flight to Germany, we can still partake in the fun here in Singapore with a slew of restaurants and bars serving up delectable German fare paired with ice-cold beers.
