Boasting some of the prettiest pies in the Klang Valley, Baker Next Door is known for its sourdough bakes and inventive sweets. Its creations are immaculately presented and best ordered whole for special occasions, the perfect substitutes for traditional birthday cakes.

Its most popular creation, the Vermillion, sees toppings of fresh cherries, orange whiskey, and brandy-soaked almond sponge, but you’ll also be able to order the Enigma dotted with blackberries and seasonal blueberries, the Queen M featuring mangoes and lemon cream cheese, or the elusive seasonal Blackpink with cherries, blackberries, and charcoal whipped cream on a black sesame crust.

Flaaah

A specialist in all things flour, it is no surprise that Flaaah is home to an assortment of pies. With each bake being crafted with French flour and butter alongside thoughtfully sourced produce, its pies are just as impressive as its other pastries.

Despite being best known for its flakier laminated creations, find banana cream pie with miso caramelised banana confit and burnt honey rosemary caramel, classic lemon meringue tarts, blueberry tarts topped with fresh blueberries, vanilla bean tarts, pecan praline tarts, and more.

For rustic, soulful pies, Dough & Dolce in TTDI is always a safe bet. When visiting for brunch plates and coffee, take a look inside the spot’s pastry case to see what pies are on offer. On occasion, the café offers cherry pie but more often than not, you’ll be able to get your hands on classic pecan pie and apple pie.

Known for its impressive selection of bakes, Croisserie Artisan Bakery is rarely without a full house. Laminated pastries and intricate desserts are aplenty here, but its Tarte Citron Yuzu is not to be missed if you’re a fan of citrusy sweets.

A play on a classic lemon tart, the bake features a pâte sucrée combined with lemon and lime curd and a pineapple yuzu confit before being balanced with a cream cheese marshmallow crème. If you prefer flakier bakes, you’ll also be able to find blueberry or strawberry croissant tarts.

With multiple locations across the Klang Valley, Kenny Hills Bakers’ sweets can be found in nearly any suburb. Comfort food is at the heart of this popular chain, with a menu comprising hearty sandwiches, waffles, local favourites, wood-fired pizzas, and, of course, pies.

The pie selection here takes shape with both sweet and savoury varieties including chicken and portobello mushroom pie, classic apple pie, tangy key lime pie, lemon meringue pie set inside buttery shortcrust, and a strawberry tart laced with vanilla pastry cream.

Huckleberry

Few bakeries craft classic desserts as well as Huckleberry. A cornerstone in the Klang Valley when it comes to baked goods, one of the spot’s bestsellers is its apple tart. Best served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and devoid of the usual lattice top, expect Huckleberry’s take on this treat to come served with layers of cinnamon sugar-coated apples on a crust that strikes the perfect balance between flakiness and butteriness.

Gravybaby

Classic pub fare defines the dining experience at Gravybaby, best known for its British pies. Savoury pies here come served with a choice of mushy peas, mashed potatoes, beans, or chips and can be dressed in British meat gravy, traditional vegetable gravy, or London East End parsley liquor.

You can expect braised steak and ale pie with a splash of stout, shepherd’s pie, slow-cooked steak and wild mushroom pie, chicken, mushroom and tarragon pie, fish pie made with smoked haddock and cod, or vegetarian pumpkin and apricot tagine pie. To end your meal on a pie-powered note, opt for its lemon meringue pie.
