The ultimate guide to eating and drinking at this hip Bukit Damansara enclave

The Five @ KPD in Bukit Damansara has recently become one of the hottest spots in town. This cluster of five low rise buildings is accessible by MRT and buses, and consists of dining, retail, and office spaces. Among its retail tenants are local grocery chain Qra, yoga studio Stretch & Flow, Ascen pharmacy, and sneaker store CNCRD.

A popular destination for office workers, college students, and foodies, The Five @ KPD  is also home to a smorgasbord of eateries from hip cafés and a gelateria to upscale restaurants and casual hangouts. 1. All About Chew

All About Chew is the place to go to satisfy your chewy cookie cravings. You’ll spot its kiosk upon entering Block A, the smell of fresh baked cookies deliciously enveloping the space. Flavours range from classic Chewibacca chocolate chip cookies to the mega-sized Raspberry Softy cookies with white chocolate.

2. CC:Roasters

CC:Roasters is a cosy space in Block E located at the back of Paolo Paolo Gelato. Apart from a quick caffeine fix (we recommend filter coffee of the day or an oat milk latte), it also sells its own coffee beans, filters, and other essential equipment to make that perfect brew. You can also take a peek at its roastery right at the back.

3. Feeka at The Five

Another great place for coffee is Feeka Coffee Roasters in Block E, where you’ll also find a full food menu. Food-wise, we love its curry laksa, Swedish meatballs, and smoked duck aglio olio.

For your caffeine kick, go for the sticky bun latte or classic iced black. Non-coffee drinkers can opt for some gut-healthy kombucha or teas.

4. Feeling +

Located on the first floor of Block A behind the pharmacy, Feeling + is a brightly lit space dotted with doodles and life-affirming messages. Reiterating the positive vibe is a cheerful menu of toasties, pastas, and soups. Our favourites are the salted caramel latte, twice-fried chicken sando, and smoked duck aglio olio.

5. Here & Now

Here & Now is a modern Tiki cocktail bar that is home to some of the most creative and fun cocktails in the city. Its tiki-flavoured main cocktail menu is separated into three components: past nostalgia, present day, and future unexplored.

Each section showcases a quartet of cocktails: daiquiri, Junglebird, Piña Colada, and Mai Tai. These drinks are interpreted according to the different time periods.

6. Jwala

Jwala means flames in Sanskrit and true to its name, it specialises in the North Indian dish of tandoori but with a modern twist. Don’t miss its barramundi, tandoori croissant, biryani, chicken thigh, and paneer khurchan.

7. Kazu KL

8. Kocco Rooster Bar

10. Mano

Brimming with Latin America-inspired flavours, Mano is a fun and feisty restaurant in Block E with Mexican chef Sergio Meza at the helm. The constantly rotating menu has about 20 dishes at one time.

16. Seed by Whitegrass

Seed by Whitegrass is an offshoot of the Michelin-starred Whitegrass from across the causeway in Singapore. The Kuala Lumpur outpost is helmed by chef de cuisine Joshua Ho. He concocts the two prix fixe menus that consist of Japanese-French dishes that play with precision and flavour like the sawara (Japanese mackerel) with fennel tapenade and wasabi dressing and Miyazaki Wagyu with fukinotou miso and sauce vin rouge (red wine sauce).
