Don Julio Rosado—a pink tequila made for daytime drinking

The highly anticipated Don Julio Rosado finally made its debut in the Philippines

Don Julio’s renowned collection welcomes a new expression of tequila, joining the ranks of Don Julio 1942 and Ultima Reserva. The Don Julio Rosado is poised to become a new staple—distinguishing itself from its peers with its dried red fruit and caramel notes, as well as a light, sweet, and smooth finish. To mark this milestone, Diageo partnered with Uma Nota Manila to host an immersive tasting experience. Themed around the glow of a pink sunset and disco, the event mirrored the distinct qualities of Don Julio Rosado—a pink tequila best enjoyed during the day.

Upon stepping into Uma Nota’s foyer, guests were transported into a chic disco desert accented by the shine of a moody pink light. Four signature concoctions were served to give attendees a taste of what’s to come. The Rosado Shot highlighted Don Julio Rosado with a grapefruit wedge, while the Rosado Spritz added edible glitter and a cotton candy garnish for a whimsical twist. The Passion Play fused Don Julio Rosado with passionfruit, lime, and honey—topped with a playful little disco ball garnish. Lastly, the Picture Perfect allowed guests to personalise their drinks by printing their faces or custom designs on the rich foam. With each drink carefully crafted to reflect Don Julio Rosado’s vibrancy, the night started strong with everyone spellbound, dancing under the disco light to the beats provided by DJs Abdel Aziz, Jazz Zamora, and Tolo Marvelous.

Further into the event, what they dubbed as the Sparkle Lounge invited guests to match the atmosphere by adding more dramatic glam accents to their looks with glitter and eye makeup. To complement the playful nature of the party, a cotton candy bar allowed attendees to relive their childhood moments with sweet treats that paired greatly with Don Julio Rosado. Gracing the event were several notable personalities such as Sofia Andres, LA Aguinaldo, Jessica Yang, Rosenthal Tee, and Lou Yanong, to name a few.

With its distinctive pink hue and smooth flavour, Don Julio Rosado is the perfect foil to Don Julio 1942 and Ultima Reserva. Aged for four months in a ruby port barrel and sporting a crisp nose with hints of sweetness, it has quickly became a favourite among discerning tequila drinkers. Whether enjoyed straight, on the rocks or blended into a cocktail, its versatility is unmatched and is sure to please a sophisticated palate.
