Returning for its second year in the country, Michelin Guide Philippines 2027 unveils its latest restaurant selection for Manila and Environs and Cebu, recognising what it deems to be the top restaurants and culinary talents in the country.

We all gathered at the Marriott Hotel Ballroom on October 29, 2026, for the Michelin Guide Ceremony, where this year’s recipients were announced. From established dining destinations reaffirming their place on the list to new entrants earning their first recognition, the evening marks another milestone for the Philippines’ evolving culinary landscape.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graced the event with his presence and shared a few words: "Filipino culinary traditions continue to thrive. Our country is known for our islands and vibrant culture. Now our cuisine can become another reason for travellers to visit. Beyond its restaurant distinctions, the Michelin Guide recognises individuals whose work contributes to the wider dining experience. This year’s special award recipients include the following:

Young Chef Award

Chef Francis Lacson, Digámo

At Digámo in Marikina, chef Francis Lacson explores the evolution of Filipino cuisine through a playful, intelligent ten-course tasting menu. His approach is shaped by a life steeped in food, from growing up in a community of cooks in Capiz to travelling the seas as a seafarer. After surviving a hostage crisis, Lacson turned to food research and writing, drawing on his varied experiences to create a menu that is as thought-provoking as it is delicious.

Service Award

Clyde Joshua Zafra, Tito Boy (Pampanga)

Tito Boy in Pampanga is known for comforting Filipino food and homey, heartwarming service. "We make time for the people we love. That means cooking with heart, serving fresh food, piled high so they can be passed around and savoured by everyone," the team notes on their website. All of this is made possible with the leadership of Clyde Joshua Zafra, this year's award winner.

Exceptional Cocktails Award

Ron Job Sanchez, Automat

Automat is the more casual counterpart to Metiz, where chefs Stephan Duhesme and Arlo Gregorio offer an unpretentious and very playful take on Filipino cuisine. Behind the bar, mixologist Ron Job Sanchez brings equal parts curiosity and technical skill to a fermentation-focused cocktail programme. His drinks are inventive and full of character, catching the attention from the first sip, while the menu descriptions themselves are enough to tempt guests into ordering another. Unafraid to experiment, Sanchez is a talent worth watching.

Opening of the Year Award

Frances Tariga, Tadhana

Filipino flavours are retold through chef Frances Tariga’s unabashed perspective at Tadhana. Here, Tariga presents a contemporary tasting menu shaped by her life experiences and global influences.

Returning from New York to the Philippines, she honours the country’s rich culinary heritage through an ingredient-led journey that celebrates regional traditions with bold modern influences.
