From a 21-year-old blended grain whisky and a farewell bottling from Highland Park to The Macallan’s final Harmony Collection release, these are the latest Scotch whiskies making their way onto Singapore’s shelves
Singapore’s whisky scene continues to evolve, with established Scotch houses finding new ways to explore their signature styles. Recent releases put the focus on everything from long maturation and sherry-seasoned casks to grain whisky and more unexpected flavour profiles.
Among the latest arrivals are Royal Salute’s 21 Year Old Blended Grain, Highland Park’s farewell release for master whisky maker Gordon Motion and The Macallan’s final Harmony Collection bottlings. The GlenDronach and The Glen Grant also introduce new expressions that explore the influence of different cask types on their respective house styles.

The Macallan has concluded its Harmony Collection with its sixth and final release, Inspired by Coconut. The release comprises two single malt Scotch whiskies, Inspired by Fresh Coconut and Inspired by Toasted Coconut, which explore coconut character through cask selection and maturation.
Bottled at 46.3% ABV, Inspired by Fresh Coconut brings together fresh coconut, citrus and tropical fruit with vanilla, sweet oak and gentle spice. The palate develops into coconut milk and zesty lime before a bright, floral finish. Its coconut character comes from sherry-seasoned American oak casks selected for naturally high levels of oak lactones, with bourbon casks helping to refine the profile.
Inspired by Toasted Coconut takes a richer direction, with toasted coconut, crème caramel, white chocolate and vanilla bean on the nose. The palate brings coconut truffle, lime marmalade and frangipane, followed by a long, warming finish of sweet oak and tropical fruit. It is bottled at 43.3% ABV and is a travel-retail exclusive. The expression uses American oak, including predominantly virgin oak, alongside bourbon casks.
Both releases also continue the collection’s focus on materials inspired by the natural world. Their presentation boxes incorporate discarded coconut fibres, giving the by-product a second use.

Royal Salute’s 21 Year Old Blended Grain is the first expression in its Classic Blends Collection made entirely from grain whiskies. Created by master blender emeritus Sandy Hyslop, it brings together hand-selected grain whiskies from across Scotland, each aged for a minimum of 21 years and matured exclusively in American oak casks. The result is a style that leans towards soft fruit, honey and vanilla, with a smooth, sweet character.
On the nose, juicy peach and red apple sit alongside honeycomb, creamy vanilla, sugared almonds and a hint of spring flowers. The palate brings soft caramel, honey and vanilla with ripe pear and apricot, marzipan and white chocolate, followed by toasted oak and hazelnut. The finish is smooth and sweet, with lingering honeycomb.
The presentation is a departure from Royal Salute’s traditional ceramic flagons. The Blended Grain is housed in a fully transparent glass flagon, allowing its amber colour to take centre stage. It is also designed to be served in a contemporary stemmed glass, with the Royal Salute lion crest etched into its base.

After 27 years with Highland Park, master whisky maker Gordon Motion marked his retirement with Sherry Skies, a 19-year-old limited-edition single malt built around his affinity for sherry-seasoned oak. The whisky is made from nine hand-selected casks: six sherry-seasoned European oak quarter casks and three American oak bourbon casks, with the latter helping to balance the influence of the sherry-seasoned wood.
Bottled at 48.8% ABV, Sherry Skies opens with toasted oak and fragrant vanilla, followed by poached pear, caramelised pineapple, spice and citrus peel. Anise, cinnamon and a lingering hint of heathered peat smoke emerge on the finish.
The release serves as Motion’s farewell dram before Marc Watson took over as Highland Park’s master whisky maker. The expression was created as a celebration of Motion’s time with the distillery and his work with sherry-influenced whisky.

The Glendronach marks its 200th anniversary with Boynsmill House Edition, a limited 14-year-old Highland single malt inspired by Boynsmill House, where founder James Allardice established the distillery in 1826. The whisky is matured in the distillery’s signature combination of pedro ximénez and oloroso sherry casks, complemented by a select number of casks that previously held claret.
The addition of claret casks brings another layer to The Glendronach’s traditionally sherry-led style, with dark fruit and berry notes sitting alongside Highland toffee, bramble, stone fruit, hazelnut and raisin. On the palate, ripe malt, dried fruit and nuts lead into chocolate and caramel, with a smooth, mellow finish.
Master blender Dr Rachel Barrie selected the cask composition for the anniversary release, which pays tribute to the distillery’s 200-year history and the hospitality associated with Boynsmill House.

The Glen Grant has introduced its 12 Year Old Sherry Finish as an Asia-exclusive single malt, bringing additional depth to the distillery’s familiar fragrant and fruity style through a second maturation in first-fill oloroso sherry casks. The whisky is first married from different barrels before undergoing the additional sherry-cask maturation.
The whisky is rich amber in colour, with aromas of ripe orchard fruits, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, warm spices and sweetness lead into caramelised red apple, followed by creamy spiced vanilla on the finish.
First-fill ploroso casks can have a pronounced influence, so master distiller Greig Stables and his team carefully select the casks and monitor the finishing process to retain The Glen Grant’s characteristic fruit-forward profile. The aim is to add richness and complexity without allowing the sherry character to overwhelm the spirit.
