The fourth release in The Macallan Harmony Collection pays homage to the Scottish whisky house’s rich history with oak and the sherry‑seasoned oak casks central to its heritage
For two centuries, The Macallan has been synonymous with exceptional whisky, a legacy built on the mastery of oak casks and perfecting the art of maturing whiskies in sherry‑seasoned ones. Paying homage to The Macallan’s signature finish and giving significance to the ongoing celebration of the Scottish whisky house’s lauded 200th anniversary is Vibrant Oak, released this October 3 as part of the Harmony Collection.
The limited edition release, which featured the collaborative likes of the acclaimed McCartney sisters and Casa Cacao’s Roca brothers, taps into Cirque du Soleil, a widely acclaimed contemporary circus producer, for yet another worthy bottle on your shelves.

The special release is part of The Macallan’s dazzling collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, spotlighting Spirit, a show that debuted earlier this year at The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland. This extraordinary experience tells the story of The Macallan’s rich heritage through breathtaking performances that culminate around an oak tree—a symbol of strength and connection to nature.
Finished in a delightful combination of first-fill American and refill sherry-seasoned oak casks, the Vibrant Oak won’t have whisky aficionados settling for anything less. The intense nose of vanilla, sweet sherbet, lime zest and pears hits, before flavours of lightly toasted coconut with almond brittle, apple and sweet oak coax the palate like a well-rehearsed ballet. Expect a medium finish, and a long finish of sweet vanilla.
“Oak plays such an important role in the colour and flavour of The Macallan and bringing it to life through our packaging is incredibly inspirational,” explains Diane Stuart, whisky maker at The Macallan. “Vibrant Oak provided an opportunity to select the cask that delivered the classic characteristics of our key wood type, sherry-seasoned American oak, showcasing the differences this wood type delivers.”

Then there is the packaging, as striking as its content. Vibrant Oak boasts an energetic gold design featuring Ayla, a character from Spirit, intertwined with the branches of an American oak tree.
The Macallan also reaffirms its stance on sustainability—that by-products aren’t an afterthought. Like past collections, which saw cocoa husks, repurposed coffee beans, and discarded meadow cuttings repurposed into creating the presentation box and even its labels, the latest Vibrant Oak has given oak chippings—a supposed waste created from crafting The Macallan oak casks—a second life.
With Vibrant Oak, The Macallan demonstrates yet again that a whisky is not merely a beverage. It is the highest embodiment of craftsmanship, innovation and a commitment to preserving the environment.
