In line with her desire to spread her love for the cognac to her family, her husband surprised her with the ultimate crystal decanter—a customised and engraved LOUIS XIII Commando Le Jeroboam decanter. This collection marks the first time anything like this has ever been done in the history of the brand.

The excellence of LOUIS XIII is beyond comparison, with a smoothness and complexity that is inimitable. Its historical crystal decanter is recognisable from a mile away and it is this renowned quality and its rich heritage that makes LOUIS XIII what it is today.
Soong recalls her first taste of the handcrafted cognac. “It was love at first sip,” she reminisces. “Its complexity and amazing flavours made me want to know more about the cognac and the more I learned about LOUIS XIII, the more I loved its history and heritage. It is not just a cognac. It is in a class of its own.”

The elegant three-litre decanter is embellished with engravings of her name as well as her family members on the decanter’s gold neck; the Chinese character 林, which is Soong’s husband’s family name, is inscribed on the decanter’s central medallion and the iconic crown is personalised with Soong’s husband’s initials. Only 13 individual Masterpieces of such crystal decanters in the world were created for the first time this year and receiving one of them was an honour of a lifetime for the stylish and elegant Soong.
“My surprise was beyond what words can describe,” recalls Soong. “I was so touched, and it will become a very special heritage piece that I wish to pass on in the family.” There isn’t a time when her home or office is without a decanter of LOUIS XIII and this Commando Jeroboam decanter will be the face of her collection.
With this precious crystal decanter, Soong has years of heritage in her hands. “To me, heritage is about traditions, memories and knowledge that can be passed down to the next generation,” she explains. It is those exact memories and traditions that she wishes to savour throughout her life, and a glass of LOUIS XIII is always the perfect companion for her and her family.
