Since Royal Salute was established in 1953 to mark the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth II, the blended Scotch whisky has been known for its exquisite expressions that pay homage to grandeur and royal celebrations. That’s the spirit behind the 62 Gun Salute collection, a trio of exceptional whiskies inspired by the namesake monarchical tradition.
“The collection’s flavour profile is beautifully complex and rounded, connecting all the senses to create a lasting taste experience that reflects the significance of the occasion,” shares master blender Sandy Hyslop of the “crowning jewel in Royal Salute’s portfolio”. Launched in 2018, the award-winning 62 Gun Salute Original Reserve shapes the collection with its blend of over 50 exceptional malt and grain whiskies, resulting in a complex profile of ripe peach interwoven with notes of vanilla, crème brûlée and cinnamon.
Joining the Original Reserve are this year’s two new releases: the 62 Gun Salute The American Oak Reserve, crafted with over 50 malt and grain whiskies but with a higher proportion of liquids aged in American oak casks for that depth of flavour, and the 62 Gun Salute The Peated Reserve, with an intense smoky profile that lingers long after the last sip.

The Glen Grant 65-Year Old Whisky

The best time to visit the sprawling Garden of Splendours within the grounds of Glen Grant is in June. Filled with Himalayan blue poppies in full bloom, which the founder James “The Major Grant” discovered in his global travels in the 1900s, this phenomenon also serves as the inspiration behind The Glen Grant’s latest release. The 65-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky was globally launched in Hong Kong in April as part of the new Splendours Collection.
As one of The Glen Grant’s oldest releases to date, it comprises some of the oldest and rarest whiskies maturing in Warehouse No.4, the distillery’s storied traditional stone dunnage warehouse. Collectors know that there are only 151 decanters, designed by award-winning craftsman John Galvin and bespoke glassmaker Glasstorm, available worldwide.
