Hotpot (or hot pot) is a flavourful, comforting meal with a humble yet contentious history. Great for a cold evening, a spicy detox after a big night, or a boisterous feast with friends and family, the interactive meal invites limitless possibilities. In fact, the Chinese dish has spawned many variants throughout Asia, most notably the Japanese shabu-shabu. Whichever you prefer, the format has become increasingly popular here in the Philippines, with restaurants at every corner serving up their takes.

1. Chariman Fu Hotpot Bar

Chairman Fu offers a one-of-a-kind hotpot experience any enthusiast ought to try. With solo pots and burners, each guest may choose their own broth—and it's not an easy choice to make, with tempting options like sweet corn and chicken collagen broth, mala beef cube broth, and even a rich laksa curry.
