The event features some of the region's biggest names and restaurants in the industry

Kita Food Festival returns for a second edition, and it's bigger than ever. From last year's week-long programme in Kuala Lumpur, it has expanded to a multiple-month affair that kicked off in Langkawi in September. The festival will close out with a series of events in Kuala Lumpur this month.

Four-Hand Dinners

From November 25-28, a series of four- and six-hands dinners will take place at some of the city’s top eateries like Akâr Dining, Dewakan, Ember, Hide KL, and Shhhbuuuleee.

Visiting chefs include Rishi Naleendra of two-Michelin starred Cloudstreet, Jeremy Gillon of Restaurant JAG Singapore, Cristian Encina of Pica Bali, Johanne Siy from Singapore's Lolla, Ivan Brehm from one-Michelin starred Nouri, Eelke Plasmeijer and Ray Adriansyah of Bali’s Locavore, and Jordy Navarra of Manila’s Toyo Eatery.

Collaborations include:

  • Jeremy Gillon with Masashi Horiuchi at Entier
  • Rishi Naleendra with Shaun Ng at Hide
  • Cristian Encina of Pica Bali at Raw Kitchen Hall, Else with Jun Wong and Chee Mun Leong
  • Johanne Siy with Mui Kai Kuan at Shhhbuuuleee

Big Sunday Barbecue

One of the major highlights is the Big Sunday Barbecue featuring an all-star chefs line-up working the grill. This year, David Tang of Rosemead, Eelke Plasmeijer and Ray Adriansyah of Locavore, Johanne Siy from Lolla, Daniel Yap and his team from Gooddam, Lim Heng Kit from Li Dining, Marcus Low's Table & Apron and Universal Bakehouse, and the team from Burnt & Co. at Artisan's Playground, will entice you with their sizzling creations.

MASTERCLASSES

This year's series of ticketed masterclasses and workshops features Malaysia's first master saké sommelier Danny Leong, Daniel and Tamara Chavez from Canchita Peruvian Cuisine in Singapore, and Wong Yin How of Vintry Group.

CONVERSATIONS & IDEAS

There will also be talks by Benjamin Yong of the Big Group, Ong Ning Geng of Chocolate Concierge, Jordy Navarra of Manila's Toyo Eatery, and David Tang of Singapore's Rosemead.
